Nice experience with this motel. I drove up to meet a friend and we shared a room here. It was nice to be able to park my car there without having to worry about a big daily fee and we were within walking distance of many of the places we went to in the city. Very decent price for the location!
We had an excellent experience at Ohio House. They have free breakfast that is great! They are in a great location in walking distance from a lot of great attractions (Navy Pier, shopping, The Comedy Bar, etc.) The staff was very nice and helpful with questions we had! If we ever visit Chicago again, we will definitely be staying here!
Pleasantly surprised. Doesn't look great from outside.Basic room, very clean. Little noisy with the traffic at night, but I would stay again. Convenient to Hard Rock and a few restaurants. Nice front desk people.
Absolutely fantastic place, truly a hidden gem in downtown Chicago. We started there for four nights and all the staff were extremely courteous and respectful. The hotel manager was happy to allow us a later checkout and is really a great person. We used the free parking and didn’t have any problems with finding a spot or safety and security during Christmas time. The rooms are truly worthy of a 5 star rating and even room service were very courteous. Will definitely be back!
This gem is conveniently located near downtown. It is beautifully positioned in a snug corner with free parking & cozy rooms. The only draw back to this motel is the shared temperature. The heat was turned way down so that when we entered the room from freezing Chicago temps, we were immediately warmed. However, we like to sleep in cool temps, hence it was way too hot. We asked to have it turned up but they only raised it a few degrees. Still hot. We opened the windows (we were in the second floor) however, the noise shook us to the core. The shower water pressure is fantastic. The newly remodeled room had swanky decor and a comfortable bed. Full length mirror and side tables with plug ins further the swanky decor. I would recommend this motel! We downloaded a fan app and later bought a fan from Home Depot to mask the Chicago noise. The free breakfast is a remarkable mention too!
Went there for St.Patrick's Day weekend; room was small but the price and proximity to everything downtown had to offer, was perfect. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay there when I'm Chicago again. The Manager, housekeeping, and all staff members were great. Free parking and free wifi in Chicago is unheard of and they offered it all... it was perfect. It looks average on the outside, but if you're looking for a cheap/clean place to stay with all the amenities, this is it.
Great location, loved the free parking. Close to buses, L train, and great restaurants. Free breakfast vouchers if you book online (gratuity not included), restaurant is caddy-corner from the motel and easy to find. Beds were comfortable, our family of 4 felt secure. Bathrooms were small but clean and got the job done. Only recommendation to staff is to do something with the outside doors so they don't slam as loudly when they swing shut on their own when people go in/out (different hinge that closes more slowly?). For that reason, I'd recommend requesting a room on the 2nd floor. Very kind and helpful staff. Definitely would go back!
Great location for bars and eating. Short walk to magnificent mile then about 20 minutes walk to Art museum. 24 hour desk, room fine although view poor but it is Chicago so buildings close together. Decent value but don't expect the ritz, it is a motel. Would use it again.
Very convenient place, walking distance to popular Chicago hotdog place, next to a market. Friendly staff guided my check in, also not too big but enough space room, clean and well maintained. Great for short stay.
Very cozy hotel- we stayed here for two nights when passing through Chicago. The receptionist was very friendly! The room was complete with a fridge/freezer, microwave, small closet and iron. Not to mention that parking is included. It was great and we would stay again! The location is great too- very close to the Magnificent Mile.
Ohio House was the perfect location for a quick weekend visit! I had read reviews of this hotel before booking that described it as a “hidden gem” of downtown Chicago, and I couldn’t agree more! The room was very spacious for the reasonable price. We asked for additional pillows and the staff brought them promptly. The biggest plus is the FREE parking that is literally right outside your door! The location is in the middle of many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. While the outer appearance may look like any regular motel and isn’t exactly fancy, it is deceiving because of the very nice rooms!!! We were pleasantly surprised that the room was nice, neat, and up to par with hotels of higher price in downtown Chicago. The front desk office attendant Edgar was EXTREMELY hospitable, friendly, professional and attentive to all of our questions and needs about our stay. We were first time visitors, but this will not be the last due to our extremely pleasant visit!
