Douglas J. Powell grew up in Crockett, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in May of 1981. He attended The University of Houston College of Law and graduated in May of 1984. He has been a licensed Texas Lawyer since 1984. He became Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in December of 1990, and has been continuously since that time. Mr. Powell has successfully handled thousands of cases under chapters 7, 11, and 13 under the Federal Bankruptcy Code.
