Review & Rating
To eat @ Camdi is to be part of a history owned by the loving husband & wife team. Camdi , the wife & chef, is one incredibly beautiful & talented woman. She is the soul of this restaurant & those enigmatic paintings. I loved her pork belly rice dish, bun rieu, bun bo hue, fish balls soup, hainanese chicken & practically all dishes on the menu. I enjoyed her cooking & good heart that I did bus tables for her to eat her food more often LOL.
Food was ok though not super flavorful. Staff was really nice and friendly.
The most Mom and Pop of any dinky town establishment. Great soup.
Love the owners! Love supporting true mom and pop businesses.
My entire meal was underwhelming, the egg rolls were cold even though I was dining in and they tasted of burned oil, and the $2 upgrade to fried rice only got you a bit of soy sauce thrown in... not going to come back. There are so many options around here
I'm not gonna comment much with the food quality in this place. I might have a very high expectation when it comes to Chinese food. Absolutely nothing authentic when it comes to their Chinese food.
My complains is more to how disgusting this place is. Right before my order come, I happened to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. On the way to the bathroom, I saw the way they handle dirty dishes and waste foods just next to the bathroom . They just stacked all their dirty dishes and also the waste food. Honestly I almost throw up and just walk out from the restaurant. On top of that, the quality of the food is just way below standards.
Definitely not gonna come back here.
This place has been around for ages, run by a friendly couple. Lots of great vegetarian and vegan options. Prices very reasonable for the large serving size. Very cozy feel, hits the spot for lunch every time.
Best Vietnamese/Chinese food around. They have an awesome vegan menu (I would recommend the vegan wontons and chow funn!) Owner is very friendly, and the service is always fast. Prices are a little higher, but the food is totally worth it.
I love this place, if you're there when it's busy or there's a ton of takeout orders, service can be really slow, but I don't mind. Their veggie friendly options make it beyond worth it! The fried banana for dessert is also a must if you have a sweet tooth :)
Delicious vegan menu! We spent about $30 on a soda, vegan fried dumpling appetizer (which was was beyond wonderful), and two vegan dishes (which were huge, we wound up bringing almost half home with us). The vegan orange fried tofu was great, but the spice warning is real. Service was friendly too.
Always great food and great service. Ran by a friendly couple. I come here once or twice a week. Awesome to have a separate vegan-friendly menu in addition to the standard menu. The small size does not feel at all cramped, rather quaint, and has beautiful and unique artwork all done by one of the owners who also is one of the chefs. This place never disappoints and is a great Dinkytown spot for lunch between classes or dinner with friends and family.
