The AMEC grew out of the Free African Society (FAS) which Richard Allen, Absalom Jones, and others established in Philadelphia in 1787. When officials at St. George’s MEC pulled blacks off their knees while praying, FAS members discovered just how far American Methodists would go to enforce racial discrimination against African Americans.

Being a country boy from Mississippi eighty one years old broght up AME i really enjoyed the service. even thou i could not attend.

Unable to attend, so to get the flavor of an AME General Conference I viewed what was offered on FB and the live streams. It was a blessing to keep up using mass media.

I'm not an AME MEMBER but I love the Praise and Worship. The Preaching, OMG what can I say about tag team Preaching with Bishop and Pastor Bryant, they had be in TEARS, I received everything. .make me want to change my membership. ......IT WAS SO AWESOME and UPLIFTING, , I know a lots of people that are AME, love you guys. I'm a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church, Pastor, Dr. Phillip L. Pointer. Little Rock AR.

Enjoyed the service...just like I was there...GWC was in the building!!!! Supporting our Pastor C as we best know how...We Love You Pastor C...
