Company Description

Blue Nile is a family owned restaurant and has been open since 1994. We have been nominated as one of the best ethnic restaurant among the Houston community. Food lovers will enjoy the unique taste of Ethiopian dishes in a warm and friendly environment. We serve our traditional dishes with Injera bread that is 100% made of teff. Injera is a soft spongy pancake-like bread made out of teff flour.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food. If you are in the area check them out. If you haven't tried Ethiopian food before, the Blue Nile is a great place to try it for the first time.

This astounding Ethiopian restaurant is a staple of Houston dining for decades. It combines wonderful food & large portions with exquisite atmosphere. A favourite place to eat, particularly if you need to cater to a number of different dietary requirements.

I'd never had Ethiopian food before, but we came here with some friends and I was pretty impressed actually. There's a pretty large menu of things to try, and they have several items listed as "favorites" which makes it easy to choose something if it's your first time. We ordered a bunch of different things to share and they served it family style for us. The food is an assortment of either lentils or chili (for vegetarian options) or spiced meats (beef, lamb, chicken). Everything we tried was really tasty and offered a wide variety of flavor. The food is served with spongy sour bread (similar to a crepe) that you tear apart and scoop up the food with. A cool experience, and the food wasn't so exotic after getting used to it. Definitely will be coming back!

Food was fabulous! Service, not so much! I highly recommend this restaurant for their fabulous food, however, the server gave the vibe that she would rather be doing something other than working. It's the only reason I have a 4star rating. Otherwise, the restaurant was ok with a pleasant ambience. I lingered a few minutes after my meal and left with the impression that had I had a different service my experience here could have been very different.
