Felicia graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Comparative Literature and completed a PhD in Literature and Cultural Studies at UC Santa Cruz. She is the author of The Will to Heal: Narrative Recovery in the Novels of Latina Authors and of numerous academic articles. Her academic experience, in learning, teaching and advising spans the Small Ivy Leagues, faith affiliated colleges, and both public and private educational institutions worldwide. She currently serves as a Director of Independent Studies at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts. Felicia is fluent in Spanish and has lived abroad in Vienna, Madrid, and Buenos Aires.

It was an absolute joy to work with Felicia and Bonnie during my senior year of high school. The college application process can be extremely daunting, but they both made it so much more manageable because of their organization and guidance. They were always available and willing to answer any questions, read over my writing, or talk through decisions. By the time I was ready to submit, I felt confident and at ease because their assistance had allowed me to formulate an application that I was proud to present to colleges. I would really recommend working with Felicia and Bonnie to any student who is looking for help throughout this process. I’m certain I would not have gotten into my top school without them!
As editor of my high school newspaper, I didn't need a lot of help with my college applications essays. Bonnie and Felicia understood my strengths and encouraged me to work independently. I would check in with them for edits and to expand on my thoughts. They also helped me clarify my goals and interests.
