My husband and I have been taking our vehicles to Hampden Auto for years! They get us in quickly, help to find reasonably priced parts when necessary and are always thorough with their explanations and recommendations. They recently recommended I take my vehicle to the dealer for an issue still under warranty. The dealer claimed there was no issue and cleared the check engine light. Well it came back on within the month for the same issue and they again insisted the dealer should be taking care of under warranty. They were right and my vehicle is currently waiting for a new transmission, covered under warranty. Saved me money and from a future hassle!

I started by taking my car to Hampden Tire if I needed to have a tire repaired, but I soon learned that they are full-service repair shop. Steve has been great. I appreciate his honesty and all repair work that I've had done has been at a fair and reasonable price. Glad that they are in town!

Took my truck to Hamden tire to have my tire repaired. The tech pulled the nail out and plugged my tire so quickly. I was back on the road in minutes. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back. Hopefully not for any more nails in the tire thou!

Very personable staff. I went in for a oil change and ended up.getting two new tires for my vehicle due to the prices being very affordable. The owner is wonderful and I would rather go to some place close to my home and in my neighborhood. The owner is very helpful and will work with you. Inwpils recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality and affordable parts and labor. Will deffinatly be returning when I need to have my new vehicle I am purchasing inspected.

My husband has come here for tire issues and tire rotations before and knew it to be a good shop with affordable pricing so he asked me to bring our truck in for a tire rotation this weekend. When I arrived, they told me it would cost $40. I didn't question this price because I honestly didn't know the normal price of this service so I left the car and went home. When my husband came home, I told him I had dropped off the car and the price. He then told me when he has brought the same car in for the same service previously, they only charged him $20 dollars. I had obviously been given the clueless female price and he was very angry. We returned and got our car back before they put it up on the lift. Someone who I had not spoken to before apparently did acknowledge that they were wrong in giving me a doubled price and they even offered to do the rotation for free but we decided we no longer wanted this shop working on our car and decided to spend our money elsewhere. Sadly, we'd prefer to spend our money in the neighborhood but now we'll probably take it to a Wal-Mart where they charge $12-15 for the same service. Moral of the story: Ladies, do your research before you bring your car here.

LACK OF ATTENTION TO IMPORTANT DETAILS. Update 5/3/19: To be sure, I checked my service receipts and they all read 'Hampden Tire' at 1045 W 41st St. I wish my review could have been a positive one and genuinely believed the staff was friendly, however am rethinking that assessment now after reading the owner's response. There are many 5 star reviews for this shop, so it seems like my experience could have been an anomaly. As a reader of business reviews, I look at the critical ones when choosing where I spend my money. My delayed review is because it took this long for me to notice the oil change mistake. Earlier this year (2019), Hampden installed a tire that was the wrong size. I noticed after a few days that my new tire looked flat. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the tire was a size too big! I had to make another trip back so they could put the correct sized tired on. I also paid for repair of another tire–a slow leak. They were not successful in that repair. Less than 2 days, I had to add more air. I took the tire with the leak to another mechanic who fixed it and I haven't had issues with it since. I also had Hampden Tire change my oil while they were working on my tires. It has been 1,500 miles since the oil change, and my check engine light is lit up and says that I need to replace the oil again. They probably forgot the step in the process in which they reset the computer. After the lack of attention to detail with ordering and installing the wrong sized tire, seeing my check engine light come on for oil much earlier than normal, I can't trust or recommend anything these guys do. As friendly as the guys were at the shop, they didn't make any effort to keep me as a customer either. It's all so disappointing. I was looking for a mechanic I can trust for the long-term.

I have been a client of this mechanic workshop for years and I have always received the best attention. The owner of this business and the mechanics are great professionals and human beings. Their prices are super reasonable, the quality of the work is excellent and the customer service is fantastic and therefore I would never take my car to another place.
