Company Description

The first Mona Lisa Restaurant was established in 1956 in downtown San Diego by Grandfather Stefano Brunetto. Our Little Italy restaurant and deli opened in 1973. In the early years, it also operated as a wholesale import business, supplying Italian provisions to the local tuna fleet and other San Diego restaurants.

Ok place for delicious Italian food. Visited about four, it was not full. Will surely make a return trip. The bill was fair for the quality of the food. This place has positive reviews for a reason.

When we arrived, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The food was delicious and was definitely worth the wait! The cheesy garlic bread appetizer was awesome and could be a meal by itself. Our server, Noah, was very personable and saw to our every need. We highly recommend the Mona Lisa to anyone who wants some great Italian food!!

I'm from Seattle, but every time I come to San Diego I eat here. The atmosphere is comfortable. They have great lasanga, spaghetti and salad. I would recommend eating here for good hearty Italian food. And try their house made tiramisu while you're at it.

italian food at this place - very tasty. Food was super flavorful. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. Prices were appropriate. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.

One of my preferred spots for italian food. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Feels similar to a restaurant in New York I loved.

Any trip to little Italy must have a stop to Mona Lisa's I've been to the restaurant but the deli is world class. The guys at the deli counter are great. Super friendly and fun and make one of the best sandwiches in San Diego. They also have a grab and go sandwich opting made fresh at lunch time every day if you are in a hurry.

This is Sicily cooking at its best. Nothing is over spiced just perfect. The meat lasagna has the perfect amount of meat and sauce with lots of cheese and it doesn't contain so much meat that you can't taste the noodles. The garlic bread is yummy and the canoli is perfect ricotta cream with chocolate chips and a very crunchy shell. The cheese ravioli with marinara sauce is to die for. The restaurant is simplicity at its best lots of history in the restaurant and does not need to change.

This is the first restaurant on the street. The indoors are cozy and the decor is old. It is definitely for families and not as upbeat as the others on the street. Food was amazing. Their garlic bread marinara sauce are some of the best I have ever tasted. The waiters are sweet! Cheers to the girl who chased after us to return our belongings we forgot!
