I have been seen at Dr. Johnson's office for several years now, because of friend who referred me. The best family Doctor change I have made in my life.

Dr. Johnson & his nutritionist Donna Goldberg are very knowledgeable & friendly. He seems to treat his patients with good diets & vitamin supplements first rather than medication. Excellent choice in my opinion. My health has improved significantly by having good diets & taking supplements recommended by his nutritionist. Best doctor & nutritionist I have ever met in my life. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Johnson and his team have exceeded my expectations. For an annual physical to include such a detailed and tailored evaluation and customized recommendations for my health was a pleasant surprise. Having followed the practice's recommendations, my overall health has significantly improved (and I was 'normal' to start with!), and I look forward to working with this group in the future. Communication has not always been easy (but I think this was a problem with my phone, not theirs), so I usually have to call back for follow-up myself. I appreciate working with a group that is willing to recommend, explain (with research!) and support lifestyle changes instead of just prescribing a medication.

Dr. Johnson and his staff have been taking care of me since I moved to Austin in 1999. I can't imagine having to find another family doctor. Dr. Johnson's front office staff are the best in the world and Dr. Johnson makes sure all of your needs are taken care of during your visit to his office. In addition to being a family doctor, he has a nutritionist and two PAs on his staff to take care of his patients. The medical assistants are the fantastic and always make my day better.

My son saw this doctor last week complaining of dizziness at work, unable to focus. After seeing the doctor who suggested he get an MRI to ensure he doesn't have a brain tumor, my son realized this might be a sinus infection. He called teladoc, got on antibiotics and steroids, within 24 hours he was fine. This doctor put my son through significant stress and cost us over $1,000 because he didn't catch a sinus infection! MAJOR FAIL!!!!

I fail to understand all of the positive reviews. My husband picked this office from our in-network provider list for a wellness check. It took two weeks (2 entire weeks) to receive the results. It turns out they do this EXCESSIVE lab testing in addition to the regular Chemistry and Hematology. They use True Health Diagnostics for a "comprehensive" lab test. No one needs to know what your Omega 3 index is in order to asses your general health. When I found out that they wanted him to schedule (i.e PAY) for another doctor's visit to "discuss his results", that was too much. His chemistry and hematology results were normal. His A1c is borderline elevated. This is where the diet and exercise lecture comes in. Other than that, there is nothing to discuss (and to be honest, if it were anything else that was abnormal, I would contact a specialist first before going back here). Why is this discussion not part of the wellness visit? You would think that it would be after they billed my insurance $4598.40 for labs plus $362 for the office visit. That's $4960.40 for a wellness visit! This place is all about billing insurance and making money. None of his labs except his A1c was (slightly) out of range. They give you a pamphlet to describe their extraneous testing. They had to nerve to ask if I am a doctor - no, I am not, but I am medically trained and I have common sense - if all of his results are normal, why should we come in and pay for another visit? My own doctor's nurse will call me to discuss results of my labs for FREE and will let me know if they want to repeat any tests or if they are concerned about any values. We're not coming back. As far as I am concerned, this lab test is a racket/ insurance money making scheme. Shame on you and your office staff for trying to bully us into paying for another appointment that is medically unnecessary. Addendum - Dr. Johnson had my Yelp review removed because I cited that the lab company he is using (True Health Diagnostics) bought Health Diagnostics Laboratory - they paid $47 million back to the government to settle kickback allegations in which doctors were paid to obtain these samples.

I went there for my annual physical exam and was initially told that I wouldn't have to pay for any of the extensive lab works. I ended up paying 3 bills since they were out-of-network labs.

I've been seeing Dr. Johnson for more years than either of us can count. His staff is always pleasant and willing to work with me and my family when we need to be seen. His nurses are amazing and have a wealth of knowledge. They have always been nothing but kind and solicitous to my family's needs. Lab work has helped uncover issues no other doctor has found and the nutritionist is great at working to find information for my special needs. The staff is so helpful in dealing with my insurance issues. If I needed to appeal a claim, they have jumped right in to provide the information to my insurance to help with the appeal. Dr. Johnson always seems to have information on new treatment options for my issues and is great at working with my family's problems as well. He's a great doctor with a wonderfully positive staff!

Great staff! Front desk is always polite and friendly, both over the phone and in person. Quick and easy appointment setting, prompt follow up when messages are left. I’ve been needing a good primary care physician in Austin area and I’m glad I found Dr. Johnson!

I have been going to Dr. Johnson for more than 20 years. I have also used the nutritionist in the office. Dr. Johnson has always taken the time to talk about any health issues. When I was young, this may have only been 10 minutes. As I have gotten older and my health is more complex, he has spent well over half an hour with me each time I visit. Dr. Johnson is unique in that he obviously reads and studies medicine outside of the office. He references industry leaders and their recommendation on treating various issues. I believe his advice is specifically tailored to me, and not pulled out of a journal. The care I receive from Dr. Johnson is clearly superior to the big box health care clinics.
