Company Description

In 2008, Potato Champion opened it’s window at the corner SE 12th and Hawthorne, establishing itself as one of Portland’s premier spots for late night food. Originally serving a limited menu of hand cut, twice fried Belgium style fries, a variety of house made dipping sauces, and our own version of the Canadian classic, Poutine, we have let our menu expand into an assortment of inventive fry related dishes.

Vegan poutine was really disappointing. Fries were great and cheese was decent but the gravy had a weird tangy/sour taste.

Peanut Satay Poutine is good. Palak Paneer Poutine needs some work. Needed to order extra gravy on the classic.

Try the PBJ w/cheese curds. To won't regret it.

Small portions, expensive, middling taste; food I'd expect at a dive bar. Make your own or pass altogether, either would be a better experience.

I love the Pb&j fries to death, but I wish you could choose your own portion size rather than them only having one size available. They don't give you a lot of food for $9.

The place has a great variety of ways to serve fries, vegan/vegetarian options and the guy running it is nice. Great if you're out with friends, since fries are great for sharing

Overpriced cold food. We paid $9 for french fries, gravy and COLD cheese. I wish the cheese curds would have been at least a little melty. Over all the whole thing was disappointing. And the guy that worked there was kind of rude. I told him thank you when he handed me my food and he responded monotone "yah" I will not eat here again. There are plenty of other choices

This is by far one of my favorite food trucks. The poutine is truly delicious. Every bite instantly and brings me back to a when I was a young man snowboarding in Canada. keep up the great work gentleman. This Midwestern man appreciates the hell out of you.

The guy who was running the stand the night we went was amazing. Super nice, and very delicious food. I tried the poutine and he got the pulled pork, large portions and fresh. Sat outside in front of the fire,it was an amazing experience. 10/10 would go again.

The food here is good if you’re drunk... I’m not drunk enough not to notice how rude this man is. Before we even had a chance to look at the the menu, he rudely insisted that we decide on what to order saying, “come on, it’s 2 AM, I gotta shut this thing down.” Fine.... but we just got here 7 seconds ago, and this is your job. I wasn’t able to order what I wanted because the cheese curds were cold and so was the chilly, presumably because everything was being shut down an hour before closing at 3 am, and he didn’t want to be bothered to make anything fresh. First and last time I’ll go there.
