What are Routers?

Router is one of the important networking devices that transfers data packets between computer networks. The traffic directing function is done by router over internet. A data packet is forwarded from one router to another until it reaches the destination. Everything coming in the way constitutes to make internet work. A router can have its connection with two or more lines from disparate networks. Whenever a router receives a data pack it reads the information so that it may know the exact destination. After getting the required information the router uses the information in its routing policy to direct the packet to its next stop.
