Each of our children attend Atlas Immersion, my eldest for a number of years now. Atlas is the most affordable French language immersion pre-school in the Portland metro area. Things we like about Atlas: full French language immersion during core hours (8:30-4:00), the full time teachers are good at what they do, and our children seem to like the teachers very much. Great community of parents and children - everyone is friendly, and our children are close with their classmates. Serves healthy meals (the previous day care we used served hot dogs a little too frequently). Great location. Administration/management is easily accessible/approachable to discuss issues. Improvements we've seen over the years: diapers are provided (used to be BYOD). Parking lot is no longer a tri-met park and ride as of November 2017. Recent partnership with local food vendor has resulted in improved fresh menu for the children. New preschool management software is vastly better than those used in the past. Criticisms: Not cheap, and cost increases every year (still less than the other French immersion options; cost is relative); high rate of staff turnover - teachers are always very good, but there are a lot changing faces. Core hours contracted a few years back, and costs extra to have children attend outside of core hours. Property/building in need of updates (updates are in progress). Overall we are happy with Atlas, and continue to recommend it to our peers in need of preschool.

We love Atlas! My son just turned 3 and he has been there since he was 3 months old. All of his teachers have been amazing -- incredibly caring and great in a childhood education setting. I love that he goes outside multiple times day (rain or shine), he's learning life skills in a play based setting, and the bonus of learning about other cultures and another language. My husband and I do not speak French, but we're looking foward to having our very own tour guide in a few years =) I love hearing him sing songs in French and I'm always amazed when I show up and see him understanding everything being said to him in another language -- I'm so happy we decided to enroll him in Atlas. I highly recommend them!

We have two children and Atlas has been our second family for the last five years. I appreciate the quality of care that our kids receive at Atlas, specifically: Warm and loving staff who provide thoughtful curriculum focused on the natural world, arts, culture and music. They love our kids just as much as we do! Outdoor play areas that inspire imagination and creative play within a safe and secure environment. Healthy lunches and snacks. Atlas community events such as concerts and potlucks that bring families together. We have made great friendships with other Atlas families! We feel truly grateful that our kids get the benefit of learning a second language in such a fun and loving environment that prepares them for lifelong education.

My daughter has been going to Atlas for almost 2 years. She loves her "school". Jarod and Dory excel at maintaining the highest quality of staff and I love that my child is learning a new language. We recommend this day care to one and all and are blessed that we found Atlas for our daughter.

Gabriel Park building and parking lot are in disrepair. Upstairs rooms are above 85 degrees on warm summer days and by the afternoon, the kids are all sweaty and red-faced. Employees come and go without any notification or explanation from management.
