Great cupcakes for my niece's birthday dinner. Placed my order in the morning and was ready at the promised time! The Churros cupcakes where the most popular!
Ordered 48 cupcakes for a baby shower and they were outstanding! We had the salted caramel (my personal fav), wedding cake (a huge crowd fav). Hot fudge sundae (so amazing with a cherry on top ) and tiramisu (very pleasant). I had my son pick them up and they were packaged perfectly so that they wouldn’t slide around in the box and get ruined. Every one of them made it to our house then To the venue without any damage. They were the highlight of the shower as we had them on clear glass towers. They are very generously sized and were not only beautiful but delicious!! I highly recommend!
Tasted Mermaids cupcakes for the first time today after my husband brought some home and I swear I've never tasted a more delicious cupcake in my life! My 4 year old loved her vanilla cupcake also. We will be visiting this place again for sure!

My husband and I loved their cupcakes and our wedding cake! We had so many compliments during our wedding about how good the cupcakes were. Everyone was very nice and easy to work with.
This review is based solely on poor customer service and not in the quality of the actual product since unfortunately, I was not able to try anything. I called the bakery to ask if they had cupcakes available to purchase as a walk in because their website made it seem like they only take pre-orders. I spoke with someone on Friday and they said that they do have cupcakes available as a walk in. I am gluten free and I asked if they had gluten free available and she said that they had some available that day. I then asked if they have a gluten free flavor available daily and she said it depends on the day and that they’re first come first serve. The next day I drove to the bakery to pick up a couple of cupcakes only to be told that they were sold out and that Saturdays are for pickup orders only (if Saturdays are in fact for pickups only, not sure how they would be sold out...seems like conflicting information). If Saturday’s are pickup only, it would have been very helpful if the person I spoke to the day prior had offered that information to avoid a total waste of time driving downtown and finding a place to park, especially given the fact that I had specifically asked if they had gluten free flavors available every day. The most disappointing part of the experience was how rude the person in the store was. No apology whatsoever on her part, just a sense of pure irritation and annoyance that I was in the store. I was buying the cupcakes to determine whether I wanted to order my wedding cake from the bakery and based on the poor customer service experience, I most definitely will not be placing any orders with them. A suggestion for the bakery: update your website with this pertinent information and instead of getting annoyed and treating me like I’m stupid for not knowing that you don’t do walk-ins on Saturday, treat people with kindness.
I've attended a couple of Stem Ciders and Mermaids Bakery cupcake and cider pairing events in RiNo, so I've been lucky to taste a variety of flavors; and I must say that these cupcakes are by far the best I've every eaten! I love how moist the cupcakes are and the yummy surprise fillings that you occasionally find in the middle, depending on the cupcake. Another thing that I love about Mermaids is their icing! It never seems too sweet. Its creamy and delicious! I highly recommend Mermaids Bakery for any event requiring a touch of sweetness!
Not that I would ever recommend overwhelming a bakery with a last minute order, but I ordered a cake on Monday that I needed for Tuesday and they didn't even make me feel bad about it. Then I pick this cake up and it's perfect!! I am a fool and didn't take a photo of it but this thing was gorgeous. It was expensive but for a large last minute custom cake order I felt it was more than reasonable. Also delicious... very important.
