Almost always great service - sometimes slow after hours due to decreased staffing

If any of ya'll need to get blood drawn, I HIGHLY recommend going to see Damon at Legacy Central Laboratory. I have been putting it off for a month now - getting blood drawn and IV's are one of my top fears (yes, despite the fact that I get three separate allergy shots weekly for the last eight years of my life, I still HATE getting my blood drawn). Anyway, I walk in, check in, wait (says wait time is 14 minutes, ends up being 5 - awesome!), he comes out, and I say "just a heads up, I'm not very good at these things", to which he calmly replies "no worries, I am". Nice. Confident, but not cocky; I already like where this is headed, despite the fact I hate where this is headed. We go in the room, and he ASKS me which arm I'd prefer (ugh, awesome, way to take your patients preferences into consideration). I say left - I prefer not using my dominant arm for these things, so my partner goes over to my right side to hold me hand. Damon then assesses the veins on my left arm. He puts on the little tight rubbery arm band thing, has me make a fist, and gets the stuff he needs. Comes back, I start to do the thing where my mind fogs out in an attempt to remove myself from my physical being - because, again, I HATE this. He does a little prick, and in what feels like 30 seconds we are done. Like for real. Normally I either cry, curl up in the fetal position, try and punch someone, or it takes too long and I impatiently ask when we'll be done, OR they suck and stab me multiple times. None of the above happened. He was awesome. And then as I ask in shock "are we done already?", and he replies, "yes, but you stopped breathing for a bit there, so I'm gonna have you wait here a minute before I have you leave", and then my stress hits me like a ton of bricks and I start hyperventilating and shaking (because that's what happens to me every time), and he goes and gets me some water, and we all chat until I'm stable. He was polite, calm, professional, and caring. It was the best version of doing something I hate that I could have asked for. Thank you Damon. Your kindness and consideration were greatly appreciated. I will for sure be requesting him for future blood drawings.

Connie in the Billing Department went over and above the call of duty to help me with a particularly complicated billing mistake, both before and after she took a personal leave. She remembered me by name, followed up with a call-back over a month later, and helped resolve a very frustrating and complex situation. Just wanted to personally recognize her for her excellent service; even though our healthcare is completely broken systemically, people like her make a huge difference.

This company has no respect for the bill of rights and treats it's employees with utter disrespect. I smell a lawsuit in their immediate future. Also I've heard they house some real bad stuff in their labs that the people of Portland would freak out about if they knew.

Absolutely horrible service. I had gone there a couple of times to have service done. Needed blood drawn for an appointment two days out. This time I walked in and waited for about 5 minutes for an employee to finish up there own personal conversation before I was greated only to be told they couldn't help me because they need an order. I explained to her that all we needed to do is call my Dr office and they would fax over the order. I was literally the only one in the office besides herself. She told me I could call if I wanted to so I did. My doctors office requested the fax number so they could fax over the order just as they had done the last two times. She refused to give me the fax number and then argued with my Dr. Office and myself recommending I go elsewhere. I left and went to a different lab which they were able to get my lab work done with zero issues getting my order. I was in an out in literally 8 minutes with no problem. Absolutely don't use legacy labs - espically the Crescent drive location in Eugene. Horrible!!!

Both my husband and I had blood work done at Quality Laboratory Services on Voorhies Avenue early this morning. The lab is vey clean, and has a exceptionally nice decor. The technician, the receptionist, and others working there were all very friendly and professional. And no waiting!! I highly recommend this lab.
