Sacramento City College is #1 The staff, faculty and professors are Awesome, dedicated and ready to assist students in any way possible. If they can't answer a question, they will refer you to someone who can help you...furthermore, they have many student services and programs to help students become successful. Need I say more
Sac City is the poor man's Sac State. It's also a spectator of the ongoing fight between Petrovich Development and the Curtis Park Neighborhood. It's a good place to learn once the teachers stop the students from talking on the phone whilst they're speaking. You should check out that recently-built bridge that goes over the railroad tracks; it's aesthetically awesome.
There is alot of great resources that students can take advantage of and also for students who are financially and or physically disadvantaged. There are alot of good programs to aid students and the staff seems like they care about their students' well-being. The only downside though is that when getting enrolled you have to compete with tons of other people for general ed classes
The professors are great and the classes were very informative. The counseling could use improvement, although I can see how challenging it must be to work with such a diverse public. Some of the classes I took had the wrong books listed and I feel like that is ridiculous. Many of the students are financially challenged and are monetarily and educationally penalized when mistakes like this are made. I find it very hard to believe that you can't decide on the course textbook and be certain that it is listed properly. Overall, very thankful for Sac City.
Excellent photography department.
This college is fantastic! It helped me become a stronger student as well as an educated man. The science department, especially the chemistry department is world class. The amount of resources available to you are endless, and will defenite help you decide who you want to be in life. I value my experiences at SCC and I hope that any future students will do the same.
Laura Wong helped me dig out a very old transcript in the archives so I could attend. Then she helped my husband get paperwork sorted to prove residency so he could attend. All in a very fast manner. She's a kind soul who didn't have to help, but she did. It's given me peace for that one less thing to worry about. I've loved this school since 2008. Thank you!
This swim meet was a joke. No where to set up telling people verbally where the no set up zones are so people have to move everything after setting up. No where to watch your child except in soaked and dangerous bleachers. My pregnancy wife was pushed by some official and he looked at her as if she was in his way. Later told us we couldn’t stand by the side lines only by the bleachers, explained my wife is pregnant and she can’t get up the bleachers he proceeded to say we have to move we’re in the coaches view (there was no one behind us). Also charging for parking with a full police crew giving out tickets. The parking meter wouldn’t take anymore cash so those with no debit or credit cards were out of luck, park off premises or get ticketed. Not to mention there is no speaker system or monitors outside where the parents have to wait to alert parents or swimmers when it is time for their heat, kids were missing events left and right that are paid for. This is by far the worst experience we have had from any swimming meet we have done. It seems it’s more of a city money grab then caring about the actual swimmers and the parents. We will also be sending in a formal complaint due to the event being unaccessible to handicapped and pregnant women.
I graduated from here in spring 2018. Also got my first job as a Teacher Assistant/Math Tutor here. Many thanks to the staff and the professors.

This review is about financial aid. I have NEVER had a semester where everything went smoothly. I constantly have to call or go in for answers. Each person always gives me a different response. It’s like nobody really knows what they are talking about. The last few semesters the excuse was “it’s a new system and everyone’s aid is late”. They REALLY need to get a handle on it. Some people rely on this to feed their family and pay bills.
As good as Sac State, in fact, better for Accounting I think. Better education and cheap, unless you need that four-year business degree to get into a prestigious MBA program. Cisco CCNA certified. If somebody wants to hire me part-time at a CPA firm, get a hold of me because I want to take that exam someday that they so well prepared me for. I got mostly A's. In the meantime, it's programming and web, because "You can do almost anything, but you can't do almost everything".
