I was diagnosed in 1996 with Stage IIIA lung cancer this Doctor (Steven Kalter) talked to me about chemo along with surgery and radiation therapy. My other doctors were against chemo it is because of Dr. Kalter explaining to me and God's grace it gave me another chance at life. I'm still here on earth enjoying life. Jan 14 2016

In 1998, as a kid, I was a patient of Dr. Kalter's. The first thing he said to my parents and me was "I am not here to treat you, I'm here to cure you." Those words changed our lives. After chemo, radiation and numerous surgeries, almost 20yrs later, I am alive and well today. Ten years after my treatment, in 2009, my father was diagnosed with cancer and a grave prognosis. Dr. Kalter saved his life too!! Now my father is 75yr old and as healthy and onery as ever! This man is incredibly compassionate and patient. He only ever treated us with respect, honesty and true benevolence. My whole family loves and reveres Dr. Kalter and I could never express enough how much he means to us.

Professional, kind and great listener. Dr. Kalter is one of the best oncologists I have ever known. Cancer is awful but Dr Kalter eases the mental and emotional pain. In my book, he deserves a 10.

I was diagnosed with none Hodgkins lymphoma in 2001 and was not happy with treatment with doctors in Laredo so I asked a friend and she told me about Dr Kalter in San Antonio. I got a referral from the doctor in Laredo n when to visit Dr Kalter. He was very patient with me cause I then to be out spoken. Well three months after my radiation in Laredo my cancer came back in my abdominal. I have been through alot of illnesses but he has help me through them. I learned with him to read my body for any bad symptoms n has help me in many occasions. He not only treated me but made me feel like family. He has become like my brother. Even though I only see him when I visits for a check up he is still my brother. If It wasn't for him I would not be here today. Now he is treating my brother for his cancer n I tell my brother that dr Kalter is like family. My brother is very happy to be his patient. God put Dr Kalter in our path n it has been a miracle for us. Dr Kalter is my brother My God bless you bro We love you The Palizos n Santos family in Laredo Texas

My family member was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Our family had numerous questions after the biopsy at the hospital. He was short and rude. I met with Steven Kalter for the first time after biopsy and asked about the results, Steven Kalter chuckled (laughed) and said, “here we go again.” This was my first time meeting with him. After our primary care doctor found the malignant tumor on his lung it took Steven Kalters staff 3 days to return our call and was not able to setup an appt until 7 days after finding the tumor.
