Love the team tomas peer support and Jennifer taylor, as well as Dan who over sees case management. The psychiatry department is completely disorganized, uncompasionate and don't listen to what you have to say. They don't properly take notes when you say something they don't even corilate your mental health in accordance with your therapist read notes or even try to. First place I've ever been that doesn't have some kind of communication between therapist and psych. The fact that they have students I think completely undermines the good work of the others that are helping in behavioral health at tmc on 19th terr. I was told I was going to be taken off meds that keep me half way grounded. That I need to learn coping skills. That every day stressors should effect me in this way, I have ptsd and diagnosed with severe panick attacks. When talked to my student psych my stressor aren't everyday stressor thar one handles all at once like myself being homeless, grandmother dying who is the only mother I've ever really had, my son trying to commit suicide and the only transportation I've had, motor blew up and caught on fire, my wife has lupus and been threw multiple surgeries, don't know how that's going to turn out. Just within the last two weeks. And I'm supposed to deal with all this cause it's normal, not to mention we are a family of four with only my dissability to live on. Spread them out one here or there easier, all at once and my mental condition the reason I'm on dissability in the first place. I think any normal person would crumble and need help. I use coping skills I've been taught. In conjuction with my meds. Only thing that hasn't pushed me over the edge. I've been other departments and usually they have the professional do your care and the student psychiatrist sit in if you allow it. An they listen to you on a individually based case. Not everyone is the same not all react to medications the same, not all factors are the same and should be individualized as to that patients needs. Dr jani. Is a joke has called me a lier blamed the front desk for his short comings, everytime I've seen him he has braught up a drug that was discussed with him that I had taken that had side effects and told him I couldn't take. Yet some how he says well last visit we talked about you taking this drug. He's incompetent and has no clue on how to handle anything but lie and put blame elsewhere. He can't even take notes and change them accordingly. Who tells someone that your child trying to commit suicide is a every day stress. Really.I completely agree with Elaine, when it comes down to the psychiatry dept. spot on Elaine!

Extremely hard working, knowledgeable, and friendly staff! They know me by my first name and are always very personable when I pick up prescriptions.

I am very mixed up by what the professionals are suppose to do. The psychialtrist prescribed meds. w/o even hearing what your problem is. Nurse practitioner is great one day and will not give you the time of day the next. The counselor is very weak minded and says very little.. I need someone strong to get rough with me.

Great place, great people. Don't even bother trying to call. It seems as if they deliberately misroute your call to a dumping line of eternal ringing. When you call back and tell them what happened they act as if you're being sent somehere different but you just end up back to the same abysmal strain of infernal rings. When you then call back and explain to them the torture they're subjecting you to they apologize and with resolution in their inflection send you, once again, back to the ceaseless skirl of rings. This process is intended drive you deeper and deeper into the bowels of madness. This is how they stay in business.

I have never had a worse experience, and this was only dealing with the administrative side of things! I can't comment on the doctors, but the front desk is a mess. I have attempted to come twice for my child for the futures program. The first time being there, the receptionist gave us paperwork and told us to go downstairs so the paperwork could be processed. Later I found out, they shouldn't have done that since we had an appointment. Because they gave us the wrong information, we missed our appointment time. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt (it was a new receptionist), and had the appointment rescheduled. I received a letter several weeks ago saying the appointment was scheduled for 1:30 pm today. I called them to confirm and they said the appointment was actually at 1:45 pm. When I got there today at 1:17 pm they said that the appointment was really scheduled for both 1 pm AND 2 pm. Then they said they could see us at the 2 PM appointment. At 2 pm they called me up to the desk and said they couldn't see us today and had tried to call me on Friday to reschedule. Seriously, don't lie. Why didn't the first receptionist tell me that when we first talked rather than make me wait in the waiting room for 30 minutes? Why would you have someone booked for two appointment times and not catch it until that day? Why would the person give me the info they did when I called and then have a different schedule today?! This is ridiculous and the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of healthcare facility. If the administration is such a mess, I would be hesitant to see the doctors. I'm done. We will not be coming back.

Please get more regular permanent psychiatrists for the severe trauma clients and get rid of all of the resident doctors.

I use to love the place but today was awful. First I wasted bus fare going over there only to fine out my doc quit. I didn't even get to say good bye to her. This REALLY upset me. Then the staff got all smart with me like it my fault. GET PEOPLE WORKING THERE THAT CAN DO THE OFFICE WORK. the people they have now are lazy not worth the pay they are getting. The first office person I went to "some black guy" got all smart with and said he was "busy". But then not 5 mins later he was all friendly and nice to this black couple and was helping them. Guess I'm the wrong color to get a moment of his time. Then when I Finelly got service the lady didn't act like she didn't knew what she was doing. She said she called to tell me not to come in and she did but I was already there! doesn't really help! So not I got to get a new doc. A young student I'm guessing that won't be there long and I'll be lucky if she knows what the hell she doing!. My advice,GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
