I visited this church while visiting NC from IL. This is a true C.O.G.I.C church, which is a great thing. The Pastor delivered an awesome word, in real time; one I definitely needed. Even my 16 y.o. listened and was able to apply it to his own life! NC is my 2nd home & I will visit the church when I'm there. Awesome service!!!

I live in Charleston, SC. My friend Desmonde Thomas induce me to his church The Upper Room on U-stream. Last Sunday, I was in Raleigh, NC and was able to attend church service. I enjoyed myself so much. Awesome man of GOD and the members were very nice. Looking forward to visit Upper Room again.

Absolutely rude to kids. Asked one of the church members if my 8 year old could use the bathroom. This woman looked at us and said the bathroom was closed. Aparently she thought we left (i bent down to help the child tie his shoe laces) and proceeded to talk rudely about kids wanting to use the bathroom one time cause they were in the field. Your located right next to a soccer field! I couldnt believe my ears. A church of God. Yea ok. Oh! Meanwhile they are unloading food and drinks for the needy. A needy 8 year old had to pee in a bush in broad daylight. Good job.

Overall the service was great on Sunday April 22nd last month, but what I didn't like was the fact that the Ushers or the Junior Ushers told us latecomers that we could not go in the sanctuary while the Praise Team was still singing during the middle of Praise and Worship. That was not right at all. I thought you couldn't get inside the sanctuary during prayer or while the scripture is being read or the statement of faith. Also, I was asked to move from one section to the other that is close to the musicians section, which was fine. I know the past is the past but, it would be nice for the Ushers to let us know where they want us to sit up front especially on Sundays from now on in order to prevent mishaps.

Jesus had 12 disciples, and 1 was a thief and betrayer; know that ANYWHERE you go, there will always be a few that could be a lil nicer in their interaction with people. Do not let the "1" cause you to miss the train to GLORY! The BOLDNESS of the preached WORD, and the active involvement in politics is what draws me and KEEPS me at this church. Great music. Great fellowship. Great community outreach. These things are just the icing on the cake! I LOVE MY CHURCH FAMILY and MY PASTOR AND FIRST LADY!!! #NotAshamed #OwnIt #IamLaShandaCheston

A much-needed Word-preached church and leader. To GOD be all the glory! I'm so thankful to have called Upper Room home.

With any attempt at fundamentalism, there's serious flaws. The bible forbids shellfish and gluttony, yet these people can't find the same amount of time to try and intimidate people at Red Lobster and McDonald's. It's fine if you don't like gay people or abortion. It's not fine to try to legislate morality. It's not universal. It's relative, no matter how much you think it's otherwise. It's certainly not a moral high ground to stand outside of building and scream at women to prop up your fragile ego. The pastor also uses church time to discuss politics. Fine, just start paying taxes.
