Big City is a team of multi-talented musicians, each bringing nearly 20 years of professional experience to every event we play! Our members have recorded on more than 30 albums/ CDs, have been featured on Boston and national radio stations, and have performed alongside such notable acts as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Run-DMC, NSYNC, Britney Spears, The Beach Boys, Eddie Money, The Doobie Bros, Alice Cooper, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, The Temptations, Missing Persons, The Romantics, Tommy Tutone, Til Tuesday, The Knack, Average White Band, and Deborah Harry of Blondie. We love what we do, and it shows in every performance!

Big City Wedding Band, well, along with getting married to a wonderful guy at a beautiful venue, was the best choice that I made for my wedding day! The band was personable, helped us make good decisions on the flow of the event, and they were exceptional musicians. The pianist played during cocktail hour, and then the band played through dinner and the reception. Younger and older relatives, college friends, high school friends, and the groom - not usually a dancer - and I were on the dance floor all night! Ken Shano is an excellent band manager and very thoughtful in advising on the plans, Rosemary's vocals were wonderful, and the band was so easy to work with. They can play a huge breadth of musical styles. Book this band early if you can! ~ Kate MacLean
Big City is amazing! They played for my wedding and they had everyone dancing all night! They were great to work with and everyone enjoyed their music. I highly recommend them!
Big city Band Rocked it. They played every style we asked for ! There was not even one song that wasn't outstanding! Very professional extremely proactive. They were able to coordinate music for a firework performance at our wedding and were able to provide seamless entrance music for my bride and I after fireworks ended. Ken Shano was an amazing spokes person for the band. I can't say enough good things about them. Worth every cent they charge and more!
We simply cant thank The Big City Band enough for making our wedding the hit it was! Our guests haven't stopped talking about them and how great they were. They had everyone up on the dance floor, knew exactly what to play and when and were true professionals from the start of planning to the very end. Bravo Big City, never enough thanks to you all you absolutely rock!
Ken and the group are AMAZING! They played everything we asked for and even learned a couple songs for us (on very short notice). They were very professional and sounded awesome. Very talented. I received many compliments on the band, many asking how I found such a great band. I didn't have to worry about a thing with them there. Can't thank them enough for making the greatest night of our lives better than we could have ever imagined.
AMAZING! Big City was all that we hoped for and more! Thomas and Rosemary and the rest of the band were all incredible! Ken was great to work with leading up to the big day and listened to all of our requests, and didn't laugh too hard when I requested some New Kids on the Block. Big City helped make our day even more special and got everyone out on the dance floor. I would highly recommend Big City with zero reservations! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My husband and I hired Big City Wedding Band for our wedding in September of 2016 and they were nothing short of AMAZING! Prior to finding them online we attended multiple viewings of wedding bands, leaving each appointment and showcase very disappointed, especially because having a band was on our 'must have' list. We eventually googled wedding bands in the Boston area and to our surprise came across Big City Wedding Band's website about a year before our wedding. Ken, the primary contact, was in touch with us in no time after we reached out to them. He was very prompt, answered all of our questions, and made the process easy. Fast forward to the day of our wedding... We had the most perfect reception, mostly because of this amazing band. From cocktail hour (saxophone and piano) to the reception (9 pieces), the music was perfect. The band was loud, electric, energetic, and they had the guests on their feet the entire night. They played a variety of music, both old and new, and songs that we chose off of their song list. Our friends and family can't stop talking about how amazing they were. So much so that they learned a song on the spot for us during dinner and performed it shortly after, we were so impressed. We are so happy that we chose them to be a part of our wedding day and if you're smart you'll choose them for your big event! We can't thank them enough!
Brian and I are still trying to find the right words to think this band for what was a fairytale wedding for us. From the moment I first talked to Ken on the phone I knew he was the vendor I wanted to work with. He made everything so easy to plan and the Skype call before was so nice to be able to walk through all the details in (virtual) person. The amount of compliments we received about the band from Saturday night is incredible. They kept the party going—even during the band breaks!! The entire band was so fun and friendly (even when I was able to sneak up on stage a couple times!) I think above all- learning all of our first dance songs really hit home. That was such a special moment for us and we are so grateful to have had that opportunity
We cannot say enough about Big City Band! We hired them for our wedding in September 2017 and they completely blew us away! They had the dance floor packed the entire night. The energy and excitement from the band was contagious and the music was exactly what people wanted to hear. We asked them to play to the crowd, rather than providing them a playlist, and they nailed it. They played a great range of songs that kept the crowd going. Guests of all ages were raving about them the entire night and the next morning. The singers both had amazing voices and energy and let us not only join them on stage, but jump on the mic for a couple songs. The cherry on top is their coordinator/guitarist, Ken. From the beginning we knew he was going to be amazing to work with. Through the whole planning process he was extremely responsive, professional and provided great advice in terms of timeline and other helpful tips for making our wedding just what we wanted - a giant dance party. These guys are true professionals. You will not regret hiring them for your big day!
We had Big City perform at our wedding in July 2017 at Castle Hill and they truly made our wedding a night to remember! From the very beginning, we were confident that Ken would be great to work with. Not only did Ken help us to select music but he had great advice on how to make the wedding flow smoothly. Big City's performance was top notch and to this day everyone's first comment is on how great the band was at our wedding. We cannot thank Ken and Big City enough!
Big City Wedding Band did a terrific job at my wedding. They bring a great energy with their playing and had people of all ages dancing throughout the night! They do a great job of working with you in advance to understand what you want, and play for a good majority of the night. I would highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for a great music and MC’s for their wedding!
