Born in Cuba, Dr. Carlos M. Alonso earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and received the Distinguished Student Award. He completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Excelent Doctor and Staff.
After dealing with lupus for many years and seeing multiple Rheumatologists throughout Florida I can attest Dr. Alonso is the best Rheumatologist around. He is a very busy doctor but you can be sure his care will be to the highest standard.
The doctor has been taking care of my mother for years, and she just had a very bad problem. He has been amazing all along and took great care of her with her recent problem. The MAs are also the best. Recommend without hesitation.
I have been taking my wife to see DR. Alonzo for several years and he and his staff have been great, they assisted us with different programs and helped us get aid for my wives medication (over $1500.00 monthly) we pay a small co-payment. She feels much better and the arthritis is under control Thank you guys!!
I have never been treated so rudely as I was today by the nasty individual that called me back after my daughter emailed the office to complain that I had been leaving messages for a week trying to make an appointment to see Dr Alonso. She calls me with a nasty attitude and tells me Dr Alonso doesn’t have anything available until May! That if I like, I can schedule an appointment for another doctor. I told her that not leaving me much of a choice since the pain in my arm has not subsided, she again very rudely says well if you see another doctor you cannot then see Dr Alonso! What the hell? What country are we in? And who does this moron think she is? As far as I’m concerned if he was the las rheumatologist in the world I wouldn’t go see him. Perhaps he should enroll this bimbo in classes on how to talk to people on the phone. Or better yet put her back in her cage and keep her away from patients. Rude incompetent fool! I will make sure to share my experience with anyone looking for this type of physician to ensure they go anywhere but to this office.
My father who is 95 years old has been seeing Dr. Alonso for over 10 years. My family is thankful for all his medical experience, understanding and the heartfelt care he has for his patients. As for his staff, they are respectful, knowledgeable and efficient.
I have been treating my Rumatoid Arthritis with Dr Alonso for years now. Dr Alonso is very professional and always willing to listen. The staff at his office is always very kind and friendly. Everyone there is very proffesional.
I have been with Dr Alonso for a few years. He always spends his time to answer my concerns and does not push unnecessary treatments unless needed. He treats his patients by their individual concerns and his staff is helpful and quick. Thank you for your help!
