Company Description

Friend That Cooks Personal Chef Service began offering service in Wichita, KS in August of 2007 (now in 12 metros). It started with one personal chef, founder Brandon O'Dell, as part-time work to keep him busy between foodservice consulting projects. Within a few weeks, Friend That Cooks weekly meal prep was such a hit, it was apparent it was going to be much more than a part-time job.

This review covers what my Friend That Cooks, Chef Sarah Glenn, did for me for the week starting Thursday, July 25, 2019. I highly recommend Friend That Cooks to anyone who appreciates gourmet dining! And Chef Sarah has to be one of the best! (Chef Sarah is located in the Des Moines area which is managed from this location. I'm recommending the Friend That Cooks service to anyone interested or anyone who should be interested but just hasn't realized it.) Sweet potato and whole wheat pancakes with sage turkey sausage patties and apple/craisin/pecan compote – What a surprise! I gave Chef Sarah some thoughts about what I might like for the week, but she came up with this on her own. Everything was cooked from scratch, of course, and she even created the sausage patties from ground turkey! Every time I say one of these dishes is a new favorite, I have to wonder how many favorites I’m allowed to have. I should probably find something else to consider … Chicken gumbo with red beans and cauliflower rice – Excellent! Really excellent!!! Since I had to go on a low-fat diet for health reasons, one thing I miss most is rich and spicy gumbo. Okay, I could actually have a little of the rich and spicy gumbo, but it would lead me toward the Dark side. Lucky for me, the Force is strong in Chef Sarah. She prepared a rich and spice low-fat gumbo! Who would believe such a thing could exist? Sweet potato noodles with curry broth, shrimp, and snap peas – The sweet potato noodles are wonderful and fun to twirl. This was a surprise as was the delicious curry sauce. I asked for the shrimp so there was one thing in this dish that I expected. Chef Sarah is one of the most creative people on the planet and she’s not afraid to use it!
