Hibernian derives from the Latin term Hibernia, which means “one who comes from Ireland” or “cold, wetland.” The Hibernian Pubs was aptly named, as we wanted to bring a wee bit of Ireland to the Triangle.

I really had a pleasant experience, I got the $5 burger promo that they had on the Monday I went on. The burger was good, as were the toppings. I started with the “Philly Egg Rolls” and they were great. All of it tasted fresh and the service was good. I wish my service was a touch more attentive however, the guy was working hard, so nothing against him. They were pretty busy when I went. And with that we were sat and waited on fairly efficiently.
We went on St. Paddy's Day so very, very busy. Also , very loud. The hostesses and waitresses were doing their very best to seat and serve everyone. There was a band. The food was hot and tasty. Everyone was gaily dressed in crazy green hats and other Irish attire. The decor and ambiance at Hibernian is cozy and traditional, just like I like an Irish pub to be. I only wish Irish pubs would play Irish music which would round out the experience. Parking was limited due to the holiday. The restrooms were clean.
We went for Monday burger night. Good burger. Good service. Good price.
We have been for both the $5 Burger night on Mondays and the $0.50 wings on Thursdays. We always get a side salad(which is fantastic) and beer. Just be prepared for a long wait for the food, even our salads last week took a long time to come out. I believe the wings are some of the best in Raleigh, will be back to fall for the Panthers games.
Check out their specials. The service was excellent during lunch hours and the prices were very reasonable. Quality of food didn't disappoint and drinks never went under the half-way point.
The service was good here, I went with a large group and we were promptly served. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. They have all your typical bar food. Their decorations are cool looking.
Service great. Haddock fish and chips were amazing! Great atmosphere.
Great Monday $5 burger special. Double burger with fries. Always friendly service. Sometimes the kitchen gets backed up on Mondays, but at least food is fresh when you get it. My favorite is to skip the bun and have my burger on a small Caesar salad instead of fries. Half price Wednesday wine is a good deal too. Also, most authentic full Irish breakfast (for dinner) I've found in Raleigh!
I had the Grilled Tomato Panini, which was fresh and very flavorful. My husband had the Lamb Burger, which he also enjoyed. Though he stated next time, he'll ask to have it served on a brioche bun versus the grilled pita. We took advantage of the beautiful weather, and sat on the outdoor patio with friends. The service and atmosphere was spot on. We've been to Hibernian N. Raleigh several times, and will continue to visit.
Got the Bangers and Mash and hubby got the firecracker shrimp, absolutely delicious! The pub is gorgeous with a lot of interesting things to look at like historical pictures and woodwork. Has live music every Saturday according to a sign, will definitely go back to check it out and try something else on the menu.
