Located just northeast of Kansas City, the school district serves more than 12,500 students in preschool through 12th grade. I have seen 4 cars in the ditch! the back roads are not clear. that's where buses have to go. it's a danger to have kids out there in that weather. call it off please!

I don't like the fact Liberty does whatever they want and don't listen to parents. My kids charge as much food as they want to and the school keeps letting them do this and won't cut them off after I have told them numerous times to do so. They have plenty of food at home to take for lunch.....All about the dollar at Liberty

Very uneducated and unsafe decision to have regular school hours today and not start 2 hours late. Busses are running late which means children are standing at bus stops for longer than normal in frigid conditions. I can't believe that the health and safety of the students was not a priority in this decision. If there are snow days built in then use them and if not, go an extra day at the end of the year. By the way, the email we received made it sound like either the district was listening to different meteorologists then the ones on local channels or they have employed their own meteorologist. It doesn't matter if temperatures are going to be 15 degrees warmer if the wind chill is still below 0. The district has upset many parents and I have no problem voicing those feelings.

I love this school district, and all the support they have given my children. But to the recent issue with the bathrooms, where President Obama has passed a law stating that if schools receive Federal funding they have to allow students male/female who feel like the opposite gender can use the bathroom of their choice. Is this going to be addressed to the parents of children who go to the Liberty School district? I for one am wanting to know, because if it is I will be removing my children from school. Only to ensure that by the off chance a pedophile who likes little girls can't up and decide they are a woman one day and be in a bathroom with my daughters. I will also be calling the administration for further Info.
