Dr. Malladi is the best in every way. No post op complications for me. The care she gives to and demands for her patients is beyond compare. Methodist Hospital Dallas is the place to go for surgery.

Dr. Malladi and her staff are EXCELLENT. First of all, Dr Malladi is an amazing surgeon, who is compassionate, caring and committed to improving the effects of my negative life choices. She, along with her professional staff, made this last year an enjoyable journey to wellness.

Great life changing experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Malladi to anyone that is in need of a Bariatric Surgeon. I have no idea how much she costs because my insurance covered the majority of it but she is worth every penny. First off I already was sure she would be great because her dad is my Pulmonologist and he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and she is EXACTLY the same. She takes her job and your success very seriously. If I for some reason gain weight back it won't be because of her because Dr. Malladi does everything she can to make sure you are prepared and if you are not she will not do the surgery. My journey started with a consultation and we decided based on my needs and issues the Gastric Sleeve would most likely be the best choice BUT she didn't set that in stone. My insurance BCBS required 6 months supervised and documented weight loss counseling and you must be 40 bmi or 35 bmi with other issues. So first step was attending a pre bariatric class at Methodist to learn all about the different surgeries and eating and drinking and and and.. it's a lot to take in but you need to know what your getting into. I scheduled my nutritionist visit they had to be a month apart some insurance is more picky about how many days apart than others but the folks that schedule will let you know. The nutritionist is extremely pleasant lady she will weigh you and then sit down and discuss your surgery and eating habits and what you should be eating and what you will be able to eat after surgery. So my monthly visit with her was fun I only weighed myself there so I wasn't tied to my scale and lost 70+ lbs. Pre op. There is a single psychiatric evaluation they have a Psychiatrist at the weight center so you can see him on a day you have your Nutritionist visit very convenient. He just needs to make sure you are mentally prepared doing this for the right reasons. There is a single Physical Fitness Evaluation at the rehab/gym again it's at Methodist and the Therapist fills out a sheet after you do some walking and other exercises and goes over your goals. It's not a big deal I couldn't do anything have had arthritis so he noted that never pushed me to do anything thank God. Also Dr. Malladi does an Endoscopy now I was bull headed and thought it was unnecessary a waste of money but she does everything for a reason and if I refused she wouldn't do the surgery. Good thing found out I had a huge hiatal hernia which was why I had bad reflux and she fixed it during the surgery. So when I went back for my 3 month follow up Dr. Malladi and I discussed my nutritionist visits and at this point settled on the Gastric Bypass as the best and safest option for me. She also needed clearance from my Cardiologist and did very thorough labs which we went over to make sure vitamin levels were good. After completing the 6 months nutritionist visits there was a pre op class which is great lots of good info and then it's time to schedule surgery. There is one last visit to Dr. Malladi a week before you need to do labs so she can check everything to make sure your body is ready. FYI don't mess around this is serious I made the mistake of taking things to lightly and gained weight my last month it was holiday but I was stupid and she nearly pulled the plug a week before. She doesn't mess around your safety is priority 1... So depending on bmi you have 2 or 1 week pre-op diet can't recall specifics mine was 2 weeks and it goes by quick since you are so excited about surgery and your new life. Surgery day checked in early and they take you to a room you get in your gown and think they gave me something to relax and put in an IV. The anesthesiologist comes in to discuss then Dr. Malladi comes in to talk to you and then off to the operating room. Recovery wasn't bad you need to track fluid intake its tough to drink an ounce but drinking enough is what she wants to see before releasing you. I am down to 278 from 403 a year ago and my bp is normal.. sleep apnea gone.. no more diabetes medication A1C is normal. Thankyou Dr. Malladi you are the best.

I travel at least 45 minutes each time I go to see Dr. Malladi and it's well worth it. Very thankful for the work she does and the friendly staff she has on board.
