Company Description

Manifesto is a small, intimate cocktail lounge that opened on April 10, 2009. Led by Ryan Maybee and a talented team of bartenders, this cozy bar is located in the basement of The Rieger, originally a hotel that was built in 1915. It was operated as a “Speakeasy” during Prohibition, and was frequented by the likes of Tom Pendergast and Al Capone.

Make a time to visit this great place in the basement if the Rieger Hotel. Drinks are so innovative and with fun names. Take some friends or a date.

This place is a modern day speakeasy! Lit by candles, cellphone use forbidden (hence no pics) , this place takes ambiance very seriously. They have a great spirit menu with a very knowledgeable manager whom I will trust to pick my drink for me every time. The "secret" entrance and narrow stairway set the stage from the moment you walk in. Just watch your head.

One of the best bars I have been to! The bartenders are awesome and the entire atmosphere is one of a kind.

There is no place better in KC for phenomenal cocktails and a low key atmosphere. Having an escape from TVs and loud music is seriously under appreciated anymore. Every drink I've ever had was delicious and every friend I bring instantly loves that place.

An adventure unlike any other. The drinks are insane. Some taste amazing (Beautiful Red Bell) and others are certainly an acquired taste kind of experience. So much fun!

Cool atmosphere and decent drinks. Really dark and they have "rules" about using cell phone or anything for more light. Very hipster but worth a visit.

I love the sophisticated casual feel of the place and the saff is very knowledgeable. Ask for a recommendation and they can point you in the right direction. Easily my favorite place for a drink!

What a great place. The cocktails are just perfect. The bartender was like a surgeon when making the drinks. That was a show itself. It is like a 1920's speakeasy, being in the basement, candlelight, an just conversations with others around you. I would make sure you stop here for a drink or 2. Make a reservation for the bar.

Fair warning. ITS DARK. Like really dark. It takes a bit if it's bright outside for your eyes to adjust. Service was good, they were very knowledgeable about the menu and different cocktails. Drinks were good, not the best cocktails I've ever had for the price and location. Bar is VERY loud so beware, it's not a great place to have a conversation.
