The MassArt that I attended in the 90s as a double major in Painting and SIM transformed me as an artist, as a teacher, and as a person. It offered limitless possibilities for self expression. But the MassArt of 2018 seems to have become a censoring collectivity of thugs. The way a famous and influential filmmaker like Saul Levine has been browbeaten and dismissed is a blight, a shame, upon the institution.

How about free or at least affordable public education instead of flashy new buildings and wings? You function more like a business than a school- particularly an start school; the student AND faculty know this.

Like what Re: Mike Capuano does , he cares about the things that help children learn and do. Not only he cares about the children, but all that it is important to see the state moving to better things . Where they can grow.. Love the art, and the designs . Very intelligent and smart work by these students. MCh 1-20-2017-

As an alumni of mass art with many friends from the film department I was extremely disappointed and angered to here of the treatment of Saul Levine a long time and much beloved presence at the school. It smacks of censorship ass covering and should not be accepted by the arts community

Mass art was the best chose going there. majored in sculpture 2005-and graduated in 2008 with honors in sculpture. had the two best professors, Rick and Laura brown who also sent me to grad school and got two master after finishing it. I am so thankful for doing the buma, jewish history restoration and my own aztec furniture.

I loved attending Mass Art. It shaped friendships I still hold dear. Now they've thrown away their soul by forcing into retirement Saul Levine, one ofbthe country's foremost avant-garde filmmakers. The newly attached "and Design" part of their name is where they seem to be focusing their energies. If you want to learn how to design disposable razor packaging, this is the place to go. If you want to study fine art, the Museum School is right down the street.
