This morning we stumbled upon this hidden gem! Absolutely the best breakfast I have ever had. The atmosphere, decor and music was upbeat and relaxed. The service was very attentive. We arrived when they opened and by the time we left the restaurant was filled with customers. I don’t think I have had a margarita for breakfast before, but it was excellent and you could taste the fresh squeezed lime juice. The guacamole was soo good! My wife’s steak fajitas were very flavorful and my breakfast burrito was perfect. We plan to come back soon and highly recommend it!

My mother and I decided to stop in for lunch after we heard about their guacamole. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. She had the steak fajitas and I had the chicken flautas. The shells were crispy all around and the chicken was beyond delicious. The steak was tender and well marinated. The guacamole was awesome, and somehow they presented it in a way that made it look pretty.

Truly authentic Mexican cuisine in a semi formal environment. Prices not bad for such an environment. Drinks and entrees for 2, about $75. Will definitely eat here again. Service was excellent as well.

Mezcalina is full of flavor. This Mexican restaurant focuses more on the quality of their meets and the flavor of their seasoning rather than the portions of ther dishes. Unlike other Mexican restaurants Mezcalinas serves adequate portions that make you fall in love with their deliciousness.

Well the four star reviews got me here. The place looks great on the inside, and the music is great. The tacos are just like Mom used to make, problem is Mom was Irish. The shrimp are tiny and almost tasted boiled. The pastor was mushy, and our orders were screwed up and two tacos platters came out as three tacos at $4.5 a taco. The margarita on the menu read “tequila, lime juice and agave nectar” perfect right? Well not so fast.. it obviously had sweet and sour.. plus I asked for very little agave.. On the positive side the chips and guacamole was good.. good not life changing.. I realize I’m spoiled living in Austin TX but lived in Chicago for 30 plus years and was hoping for a non chain authentic Mexican place, this wasn’t that.

If you love blaring music on Sunday mornings you n will love it here. The neighbors in east side lakeshore hate this place. No consideration for their community
