August 24, 2017, my wife was discharged from Summit Medical Center after spending 3 days in ER and ICU. This week we received a bill from Middle Tennessee Pulmonary in the amount of $429.28. Problem is, we have no idea why we're being charged this amount. Specifically, the "service details" noted on the bill was lacking in "details." One explanation shown was "Cc E/M Critically III/I (99291), which is totally meaningless. The other, "Hosp Dschrg D Mgnt 30 M (99238) in the amount of $130 was puzzling. If I understand it correctly, we're being charged that amount for administrative services. By a physician?? Unless there's more to this than meets the eye, I think it's excessive, at best. Furthermore, my wife's condition had nothing to do with pulmonary issues. She was severely dehydrated, which triggered a high heart rate and low blood pressure, which was treated by an ER physician (great job) and a cardiologist (great job). So unless this particular medical group can provide a more detailed justification for the charges, it appears there was either an error or, hate to say this, but perhaps we were charged for unnecessary services. Neither I, nor my wife can recall one of the members of this group, Rachel Kingree, ever visiting or treating her. So again, all we're asking is detailed breakdown of services rendered, by whom, and why.

Dr. Evans is one of the most caring and has the best bedside manner I have ever experienced. He genuinely seems to care about you and wants to get to the root of your problems. I highly recommend him to anyone, especially if you are having sleep apnea issues. He is very knowledgeable in this area as well as all other pulmonary issues.
