Whether you are a complete beginner, an experienced salsa dancer, or a dancer with other dance training seeking to gain comprehensive knowledge on Latin dance, MMA is the place to be!!! I have extensive training in ballroom dancing, and also a true believer of the importance of foundation of body movement and partner work technique. Del and Laura are amazing at breaking down the foundation and technique in every class, while creating a friendly and fun atmosphere! I also really love all the other students I have met at MMA - you will definitely make great friends along the way during you dance journey here!
In addition to being fantastic instructors, Del & Laura are just great people! It's always clear they thoroughly have a passion for teaching dance. And they do it in a way that encourages their students to continually get better!
Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy is a great place to learn Salsa/Mambo. in Chicago. Great school with really knowledgeable instructors. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancer, Del and Laura can give you information to get your dancing to the next level. Classes are right-sized so you'll definitely get attention under the watchful eyes of the instructor for that class. I have been dancing with them for less than 2 months and have gotten numerous compliments on my Salsa/Mambo dance skills. I attribute this directly to the instruction provided by Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy.

Laura and Del are very nice people. They are also fabulous dancers. They will teach you how to have the latest skills. They will make you feel like family. I took group lessons and learned how to salsa dance in 8 weeks flat. They are just very warm friendly people.
I've been taking classes at Mixed Motion Arts for some time and I LOVE it! The classes are a great mix of technique and style. Del and Laura make sure you get individual feedback, so you never feel like you are being over looked. It's a wonderful community, very welcoming, and I have made some great friends in the process.
Del And Laura are true professionals with so much warmth and kindness. The are experts at paying attention to details and identifying how best to encourage best dance techniques. Corrections are given personally with humor and inspiration. If you want to advance your dance confidence I highly recommend private classes with either Del or Laura. So grateful they are in Chicago!
I was recommended to them by a friend, she had also suggested a few other schools she had attended. I ended up signed up for their 12 week bootcamp because my friend mentioned that Del and Laura were better at progressing students and getting them ready for social dancing, which is what I wanted. I was extremely impressed, not only are they amazing instructors, but they are super friendly and positive. They will breakdown the steps and help you find the rhythm in the music so you can dance on tempo. They are extremely knowledgeable, and better yet they know how to breakdown that knowledge to beginners. They always make everyone feel welcome and treat you like family. That's one of the many reasons I've now become one of their loyal students.
Laura and Del are beautiful dancers and detail oriented teachers. Mixed Motion Art Dance Academy is the only place to learn Salsa/Mambo in the Chicago area. There is a comfortable and friendly environment for everyone regardless of skill level, and each class makes you more confidante dancer. They give heart and soul to each student and take their time to make sure you understand all steps and dancing techniques, and I really mean it--- they are super patient people! Ballroom dancing is out my comfort zone experience but thanks to MMA, I really enjoy it! Highly recommended for those like me or seasoned dancers looking to hone their skills. Thanks guys! :)
When considering salsa/mambo classes in Chicago and throughout the states alike, MMA is THE go-to destination! I’ve been taking classes, both private and group, for nearly a year and have to say that Del and Laura have the rare trait of creating an environment where attention to detail is of the most priority as well as ensuring a fun, comfortable and positive environment! They help put you in the most comfortable learning zone while learning everything from basic foundation steps, shines and advanced patterns. If you want the energy of a second home while learning dance...or taking your dance skills to a higher level...then MMA is the family you’ve been looking for!
