While we might be world-famous for our amazingly artistic wedding cakes and sculpted cakes, what truly makes our bakery special receives much less publicity: effort. It’s our secret ingredient. We don’t have to grind each cup of coffee individually, or hand squeeze our orange juice a cup at a time or insist that everything we bake and sell is made on-site from raw ingredients. If we could bring ourselves to use mixes, or frozen doughs, or a buttercream recipe that doesn’t take 5x longer to make, our lives would be much easier – but that’s not who we are.

Great little gem in back Bay. Amazing cakes and pastries. Love how they keep switching the menu and the chocolate chip cookies are a gift from God.
I adore this bakery. I lived above it for three years and loved being able to go downstairs to buy delicious cakes (great for last minute birthday cakes) or grab coffee in the morning. Can’t recommend heavily enough.
Oakleaf Cakes is absolutely incredible. I'm in Boston for the summer and wanted to get a cake for my birthday, but I have an allergy to all dairy products, and it's so hard to find a bakery that can accommodate that. Oakleaf has vegan cake options, and I was able to order a 7 inch gourmet cake that would be absolutely beautiful and dairy-free, not to mention soooooo delicious. Hands down the best red velvet I've ever had.
I ordered a custom cake from this bakery, the design was good except for an air bubble that cracked the cake from the side but the worst part is I spent $270 on a cake that tastes really bad! There were over 20 guests none of them eat more than a bit from it. Really disappointed. p.s they offered me ”credit on my account for a free 9” Gourmet Cake valued at $70” for the crack on the cake.
I love Oakleaf! Always friendly staff and they have so many options for whatever you're craving. My boyfriend and I go at least 3 times a week. Vegan options, unique drinks, and a cute and cozy shop. Definitely my go-to!
The most wholesome and delicious bakery I have ever been to! Everything I have ever had is so good, and then all look so cute! Great atmosphere.

Oakleaf provided cupcakes for our Wedding at the NE Aquarium this July. After reviewing so many vendors while planning our event we were so excited to land on Oakleaf! They were incredibly easy to work with and the cupcakes were delicious! Oakleaf accommodated some special requests of ours to keep to our theme colors and we loved the way they turned out. Thank you Oakleaf for a stress-fee wedding cake experience!
This place is the best!!! I have been coming here for the few years and the quality of ALL their food and drinks are without consistently if the utmost superior quality to any other bakery in the area. The staff are some of the warmest, kindest and most helpful people in the world. I [hand to God] have never had a bad experience while here. I LOVE and highly recommend the chai lattes and confetti sugar cookies. Worth every penny and always my little escape from hectic Boston life.
I used Oakleaf Cakes to design and bake my wedding cake for a September 2019 wedding. From our first tasting to the final product, they were extremely professional and listened to all of our needs and desires. They designed a custom cake to match our wedding theme and coordinated with our florist to create a gorgeous final product. And in addition to being beautiful, it was delicious. We had a 4-tier cake and were able to have multiple flavors. We chose red velvet, yellow cake, and chocolate cake (with nutella butter cream). Each flavor was unique and decadent. We saved the top tier to freeze and have on our first anniversary, but it was so good, we consumed it on our wedding night with our entire wedding party. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
