This place is amazing! The soup dumplings are perfect!!!! Don't listen to the people saying it's over priced. Its not at all. Go and enjoy the goods!
I really feel that that the dim sum scene in Houston is very lackluster. For a city as big as Houston and with as much Asian influence we do not have a single place that screams wow! We have a few that are decent but nothing amazing. I had high hopes for One Dim Sum, as it was centrally located and had a chance to shine. First off the parking sucks in this area. It's in midtown, located next to Buffalo Wild Wings, there are a good amount of parking spots but with just so many businesses, good luck finding one. They also offer valet. Lucky for us we came early and did find a spot. Upon entering we were seated quickly and our orders were taken fairly fast too. Now this is where it starts going down hill. The dishes take forever...and if they truly making all of the dishes fresh I get it. But, they don't have a good method of tracking what is coming out and if it is the correct dish. So we ended up missing a dish. So now they have to add this to the queue, we ended up waiting almost an extra 30 minutes for 1 dish. Finally, the price, I get it, location, but the quality just doesn't justify the higher price tag.
The food was delicious and since it was in small portions,multiple items could be ordered and shared. The service was very quick. I highly recommend the Shrimp Sui Mai and Curry Chicken Puff.
Food was excellent. Favorite dish by far was the pea shoot crabmeat dumplings although the truffle beef fried rice was delicious as well. Great atmosphere and quick service
This place was AWESOME!! Great food and great service. They recently went through a training program and everyone is a lot more understanding of the menu. I highly recommend everyone to try it here! Great environment and the owner was very sweet. Let’s support our local new restaurant!
Enjoyed a lovely dinner at One Dim Sum tonight! I read some really stellar reviews before checking them out and wasn't disappointed. Everything was made fresh and you can taste the difference in every bite. Lots of great choices and flavor combinations. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a great Dim Sum experience. Can't wait to come back & try more dishes. Especially the duck!
Fantastic dumpling restaurant. The service was wonderful, and they even have us great suggestions! We got to meet the manager, as well, and she was so lovely. We will definitely be coming again!
Love this place, they have really good classics and some modern takes as well. Highly recommend the soup dumplings, beef rolls and shrimp balls. I've had better BBQ pork buns, pass on those. Expect to pay a tad more than your typical dim sum restaurant.
Amazing dim sum! Everything we ordered was fantastic and freshly prepared from scratch. There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan options as well. The menu is not as extensive as many dim sum places, but every item we ordered was delicious. The green beans were exceptionally good! The owner and wait staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly. So nice!
I was so glad to have a dim sum place in midtown. It is pricey compared to the dim sum in Chinatown on Belliare. However, every dish we ordered was delicious. The food was hot and tasty. The service was great. I will definitely come back. I knock 1 star for the price and portion size. Overall, great experience
