I have been here three times for pediatric procedures. I have no complaints with the medical treatment we received, but the claims handling and billing can only be described as grossly incompetent. Not one bill we received was correct. After our second visit, our claim was paid in full, yet the bill was referred to a collector. It took three months to resolve the issue, and throughout we were receiving calls from a collection agency. It took multiple calls to the Vice President of billing to resolve the issue. Other than that VP, no one ever returned our calls. Most recently, multiple claims were sent to the wrong insurer. Even after repeated attempts to have the claims submitted to the correct provider, the claims still haven't been submitted properly.

My wife has chronic ear infections because of a malformed ear cannal. Recently she had the worst one I have ever seen. We went to our local hospital and they gave her IV antibiotics and kept her there a week to get the infection under control. They released her and said if it comes back go to Sinai immediatly because they are better equiped to handle this. BIG MISTAKE. One week later she began to feel the infection coming back so she went to Sinai ER. they LAUGHED at her and were quite rude. Then the registration nurse demanded she pay for the visit. Thankfully she demanded a CT scan and a different DR before she left. Of course the scan showed that the infection had spread to the bone, gotten behind the ear drum and they told her she would be admitted. Horrible staff, with the exception of the one PA who took her seriously.

This hospital is a DEATH SENTENCE. If you have the unfortunate luck of being rushed here in an emergency, bring your advance directive with you. Substandard Care across the board. Dishonest and unethical hospital administration that covers up medical errors. This hospital is not staffed to handle acute or complex patients. Detriment to the community. ZERO STARS. Wife of RESIGNED Board Member.

Dear Sinai Hospital, I let one really bad experience paint a haunting memory in my mind. You have been redeemed. We went to ER, my husband was not well. The whole process went smoothly. He was examined, and assessed. Everyone, really everyone, we came in contact with, were helpful and professional. Every promise made to me has been kept. The social worker called me both Saturday and today. Oh - the security officer was very kind. My impression has changed. Don't screw up!

My 3 year old had surgery here. 98% of the staff is great, from the surgeon, nurses, security to cafeteria workers. Pediatric floor was only built a few years ago. On site housing for out of town families is a blessing. Only downside is admin staff making errors on billing and scheduling.

Grandmother was ill, sent her too the hospital and she'd stay for three days at a time before being sent back with no answer as to why. Send her again and they're giving her blood. Claimed she was bleeding internally but they didn't know where from and never resolved the issue. Kept sending her back home until she eventually passed away. Due to bleeding from a stomach ulcer. Wont ever forget one of the days we came to pick her up. She had messed the bed and they hadn't cleaned it. And there was blood on her upper lip from a nose bleed. Hope I never have an emergency that requires me to come here. I appreciate those that care, but the ones who don't make it hard to find trust these days.

My mom has been here for 3 days. I love the staff, the nurses, cleaning people, techs, security and doctors. It was clean, everyone was attentive down to the security guard that walked me to my car at 2am. The cafeteria was nice, also has a 24 hour Subway! Best I've been to in Maryland.

Had an allergic reaction and not sure from what and I saw Kristen and she immediately went into action to try to find the cause. She administered antibiotics and everything went well. Even referred me to an allergist. Great service

I have stayed and/or had procedures done in every Hospital in Baltimore City; Sinai took care of me the BEST every time!!! Sometimes our own personality can have a great influence on how others treat us. Other times, some people are just having a bad day, which shouldn't determine the overall quality of a Hospital or any other place we may go. We should always give a second chance, if possible; or check around and find out the opinions of someone who has had more than one experience .

Shout out to ER Nurses: Peggy, Shannon, Bob, Sarah, Madison and Andy! The Sinai staff seem to understand what a large difference kind demeanor can make during one's visit to the ER. Thank you all for your sensitivity and kindness towards me during my stay at Sinai. Please know you have a made a difference in a less than fun situation. Thank you.
