While VEDA has a very nice-looking and clean space including outdoor bistro tables, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an appealing menu, it is EXTREMELY overpriced. I paid $13 for the Kale Quinoa Salad with Chicken. While it was good, the portion was extremely small, what I would consider a half salad portion. For $13, any other salad place serves twice the quantity. It is—after all—a salad, not a high-density caloric dish. Have been looking forward to trying VEDA since it’s around the corner from my house, and finally went for lunch today. While I may consider going back for a smoothie or juice, I won’t ever bother for a salad / lunch again. Rip off.
I usually get my power shots from Arden's Garden, but today I decided to try Veda Juice. The staff was very friendly, but shortly after taking two wheatgrass shots and an 8 oz. juice, I experienced a bad headache and nausea/vomitting. I read a few articles on some of the possible negative effects of wheatgrass and the most common side effect was headaches/nausea. But this is usually due to the body not being used to wheatgrass and is intolerant of it. I drink the grand slam at Arden's Garden (which includes a shot of wheatgrass) at least 3x a month and never experience these side effects. I've even taken a double grand slam which includes 2 shots of wheatgrass. I continued to read into this and found that another reason I could've expereienced these side effects is if the wheatgrass wasn't cleaned properly and contained a naturally occurring mold that is usually eliminated with proper storage and care of wheatgrass. I'm not going to say that this is entirely the fault of Veda Juice, because it could have been a bad batch, but I vomitted everything I ate today and I normally don't have these issues with wheatgrass from Arden's Garden. $10 gone straight down the toilet and a day's work lost because I had to go home and rest. The employee who made the shots was also not that knowledgeable on how to even make these shots, so it leads me to believe that it probably was a contaminated batch. Other than that, the store was clean. They even have a rewards program and the juices taste pretty good. They would have 5 stars if it weren't for the food poisoning.
Friendly staff. Great experience. Had the most delicious, satisfying, and generously portioned Acai Berry Bowl yesterday afternoon. As good as it looks...maybe even better!
Unbelievably awful service. I walked in and the woman behind the counter barely turned around to greet me and then asked over her shoulder what I would like. I was the only customer in there. I ordered a coffee and a fruit bowl figuring it would take about 5 minutes. The coffee took 15 minutes to prepare, and I never saw the fruit bowl. I waited 30 minutes and decided to leave. TJ, the guy in the back preparing the food, or not preparing really, came out several times. I have no idea what he was doing back there besides listening to loud music. Three other customers came in and left during the same time without even ordering because nobody even acknowledged they were there. An Uber-eats delivery man was standing with me the entire time asking about the food order he placed. The lady at the front said she couldn't control TJ and he was just taking a long time. Owners, please do something about these employees.
Oh how funny to read about the changes... Since I could hear as I was leaving my front porch about how unclean and unsafe it is to eat here, from what I’m assuming was the former employees LEAVING.... I overheard them talking about how they are told to reuse latex gloves to save the owner money, the TJ I’m assuming mentioned 👆🏻above adding water to the “fresh pressed” juices, How there is no hot water in the front, which leaves me to question how are they cleaning those blenders that they FREQUENTLY use day in and day out in the front?? CROSS CONTAMINATION ANYONE?!? I also head them say that the sanitation system is improperly installed in the kitchen area. How the food is over priced even tho the owner buys the cheapest produce along with some obscenities about the employees being mistreated and under paid.... And now to think of it I’ve NEVER seen a score from the DOH in the store.... hmmm Close to home or not I’m pretty sure I’ll just stick with Kale Me Crazy!! (Haven’t returned since biting into my frozen CHUNK of Açaí and no Goji berries on my “Berry” Soup.)
Amazing staff and I love the juices!! I have lived in Atlanta for 3 years now and I have never found a healthy place who’s food tastes as good as Veda Juice.
Great juice. Pick me up is my favorite. Great after a workout. Store is clean and staff is great.
Loved my açaí bowl and my husband loved his chicken salad sandwich. And the staff was very friendly and quick.
