Company Description

Roy Gilad and Tara Gilad, a pair of successful business owners, founded Vitality Bowls in 2011 in San Ramon, California. The duo started the superfood café concept together as a result of discovering their daughter’s severe food allergies and wanting to find healthy, safe food alternatives.

I was greeted warmly, and offered assistance for choosing a smoothie, given info about their points rewards program, and the smoothie was great! The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is that I was not able to order a custom smoothie. I was, however, encouraged to make modifications to any product on the menu. After a recent experience with terrible service at the new Tropical Smoothie Cafe in my area, I was more than happy to pay to park at Smoothie King and enjoy their great service!

I've been here several times now, and the product itself is good (specifically their name sake, the vitality bowl) IF you can get it. The wait time can be very long regardless of how many people are ahead of you. For the price, the product is not worth the wait. I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

Probably should pay their phone bill so customers can call and ask for directions since they don’t have the correct address on Google or maybe that’s why they aren’t getting their phone bill. Either way, it’s in a great location that offers free one-hour parking but be wary that you might have to get bowls to-go since it will take approximately that long for your order to be taken, made, and delivered. If you are one of the lucky ones, you might even get what you ordered. Great decor, concept and menu options. The acai bowls were mediocre at best. Will never go back but just in case anyone wants to waste their money, you can google Anh’s Kitchen (next door) to find this place.

I waited over half an hour for my bowl. The place was not exceptionally busy but there did appear to be a lot of to-go orders. The employees were courteous and apologized for the wait, and I did enjoy the bowl in the end, thus the good rating. Still the owners need to get better about proper staffing levels.

The food is fantastic. I really enjoyed the bowl that I had, the fruit tasted great and the granola was just right. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There's a good amount of seating inside for such a small store, but the inside is a bit stuffy so I would recommend taking your food and sitting outside.

I’ve had a few good experiences here before, but tonight I walked in to order a bowl to go with a friend at 6:45, with the place closing at 7. We were told they were closed and wouldn’t be making any more bowls for the night. The lady working the cash register gave me a horrible attitude when I suggested that they serve until 7 if they are open until 7 and I was really turned off. She sassed me as I was walking out the door as well, and I really don’t think I deserved the nasty attitude. If a place says they’re open till a certain time, I think it’s reasonable to hope to get food TO GO when there is still 15 minutes left, and also not to get a ton of attitude from your employees. There was also another customer she turned away at 6:45 too. Not the best for the business to be turning at least 3 people away during open hours. Closed sign went up at 6:49 as she locked the doors behind us.

Great food but the service staff at the Midtown location need to be a little more professional. This is my second visit here that was unsatisfactory. The first visit I walked in and was not greeted at all. The one staff that was there was too busy conducting an interview to even acknowledge my presence or alert other staff that I was waiting to order. I stood there for about 10 minutes unacknowledged before I finally just left. The second time I visited, I ordered a vitality bowl that took more than half an hour to come out. When I asked the server she said she'd forgotten about it. 15 minutes later still no bowl, I ask again and still hear "I forgot about it." Total of 45 minutes before I received my bowl and all I got was an "I'm sorry about the wait.". This is completely unacceptable.

The smoothie was good. However, it was a 38 minute wait. For an $8 smoothie. Service was very... lackluster. No sorry for your wait or anything. I think it’s also important to note there was only one other customer ahead of me when I ordered.

Today it took over 30 minutes to get my smoothie, and this was not during lunch or dinner rush. It was clear the staff was overloaded/inexperienced, however, given the high prices of the menu items there should be enough staff for prompt service. There were only 5 people in the store, but we all had to wait in excess of 30 minutes. A previous time I got takeout here I got a call asking me to return to the store to give back my bowl as it was intended for someone else. I'm not sure if it's legal to serve someone food that went home with someone else, but I didn't return it anyways since I did not want to fight Atlanta traffic for >30min. Both the nature of the request and tone of the voicemail came off as unprofessional. On the positive side, the bowl/smoothie I have tried were tasty and the menu is quite extensive. The location on Peachtree st. is excellent as well.

Bowl was decent quality and the atmosphere is decent on a Friday after work. Customer service was acceptable. Nothing really differentiates this place from another acai bowl spot. Avacado toast on locally baked sourdough would be a nice addition. I don't get the feel that this place is really health focused. It feels superficial.

I've been here a few times as I like to give a benefit of the doubt and because the food is fine, although notably slow, and the location is convenient. But this place is just strange and lacks any personality (almost feels dead or just flat) in both atmosphere and service. It makes the name Vitality seem ironic. Feels like no one working is happy to be there. I don't need to be doted on but there are too many places in our neighborhood I'd rather support that seem to appreciate the business, where there is a sense of welcoming and joy, and where even a sliver of excitement for food and hospitality is conveyed to their patrons.
