I have had several garments tailored here, including pants hemmed, pockets lengthened, dresses altered, and shirts taken in, among other alterations. The quality has been fantastic for every job. The tailor has also been very accommodating when I have special requests or want something changed. The prices are very reasonable, too. This is now my go-to location for alterations.
I brought in a bridesmaid's dress that was 2-3 sizes too big DAYS before I had to have it back. They were incredibly nice, professional, accommodating, but most importantly - their pricing was fair (I was prepared/ afraid of having to pay 2x as much because of the short turn around). I picked up the dress 4 days later and it fit perfectly. I can't say enough good things about this place.
A&J Alterations is always a great experience! Recently, I had them tailor numerous suits and blazers. All were done perfectly and on-time. I will most definitely be going back!

Best Alterations Place in Buckhead. After moving here a few years ago I tried out several different alteration places. None could compare to A&J, they are awesome. I once took a dress to be altered for a formal event. They fixed it on the spot, it was ready by the time I changed back into my clothes, and it was perfect! Every other time I have been there I have been extremely satisfied. They go above and beyond any expectations. Good pricing, quick service and quality that can't be beat!
A&J Alterations was a disappointment. Since I moved to Atlanta, I have been looking for a great tailor, because I always have to alter the clothes I purchase. This particular time I had three pairs of jeans, and I wanted to take in the waistbands. Unfortunately, out of the three pairs of jeans, only one came out okay. I honestly don’t know what happened with the remaining two. The waist in one of my jeans is extremely tight, and I have a permanent wedgie. While the waist in my other jean is still roomy. I am even questioning whether it was altered. A&J’s quality of work is definitely a disappointment. I read the great reviews and expected nothing but the best. Especially, if I am paying up front before the work is completed.
A&J Alterations is quick, efficient, and inexpensive in comparison to competitors. I came in on Friday with 2 skirts, a blazer, and slacks. I needed a suit ASAP, so I agreed to rush services on the skirt suit only. I come in on Monday and to my surprise, ALL of my items were done, and they fit perfectly! I made sure to leave a tip. I'm so glad I chose A&J. I will be telling everyone I know to come to this place!
I dropped my bridesmaid’s dress off on May 19th and it was ready on June 2nd, which left me plenty of time before the event. I got it hemmed ($47) and had the straps taken in ($15). At $62, it seems expensive. The dress is now the perfect length. They steamed the dress and were thoughtful to not put the dress back in the carrier so that it wouldn’t get wrinkled. The straps were still a bit long, but she took them in right then and there so that I could still go home with the dress. I was impressed with the work, just wish it wasn’t so pricey.
Many can probably relate: I purchased an evening dress a year ago and this year, it was a bit snug, to say the least. Since it was mainly snug in the bust area, I took it to this tailor to see if it could be let out. Initially, they were hesitant to let it out, saying that there wasn’t a way to do it without having to add more fabric and that it would look cheap. Well, my mom is a seamstress but lives in Michigan, so when I told her and showed her the seams, etc. she said I should try to find an accent fabric in the same material and ask for . . . (she had me memorize what to ask for). So I went back with a proposed solution. I guess my determination spoke strongly and at my return visit, another one of the tailors checked it out and was willing to give it a shot- without having to add the additional fabric. Yippee!! At that point, we’d lost 2 days since my first visit/request, so I would need it back in about 3 days. Well a day later, they called and asked me to come in one more time to make sure the alterations would work (I also needed it hemmed). And after that visit, they finished a day early! We all hugged and smiled about the fantastic work. Considering that the work was intricate and that it was somewhat of a rush job, I thought the pricing was very reasonable. And the tailors were very pleasant. The only reason they turned me away the first time was because they were afraid of ruining the dress. Because if that level of concern and service, this will be my go-to tailor going forward.
I absolutely loved the service I received here. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients and their work. I brought in a very last minute alteration (an ornate gown that I needed to have hemmed and have the straps shortened) for an important event and they finished it in a day. The dress fit absolutely perfect! Thank you so much, I'll be sure to return!
