Company Description

Studio director Amanda Mathews founded Chambers Pottery in 1996 as a place where potters of all levels of skill and aspiration – artist to hobbyist – can work in a relaxed, welcoming and focused atmosphere. Amanda studied Cultural Anthropology at Hunter College and Art Restoration at the University of the Americas in Mexico City. She has taught pottery at Trinity School and Earthworks and Artisans in New York City. She brings a deep respect and enthusiasm for the potter’s art, and decades of experience to teaching, to selecting and to advising instructors, and to managing the studio.
