Great help. I learned so much about managing my migraines. It's not a panacea or a cure, but if you incorporate the therapies and what you learn into your life, you will feel better.
The doctor was fine but their administration and billing department are HORRIBLE! After paying $425 (out of pocket) for a single visit, I received a bill for an additional $125 urine test. I was shocked b/c they never let me know at the time of service it would be additional or else I would have declined. When I called their office to complain, they kept referring me to the lab company and vice-versa. I found their customer service to be highly unprofessional. And their practice of charging for telephone consults is irregular as well. Go elsewhere!
It was great when I first went there in 2004. They got me off of all the medications I had been taking and started fresh. It worked for a long time. In the last few years my headaches have been getting worse and they just keep upping the dosage on the preventative meds and make no other changes. The abortive meds no longer work but they have not given me anything else. Just in the last couple of weeks my headache had been non stop and I've called in almost everyday. The physicians assistant called me back once and now I'm being charged $50 for it. I did not ask her to call me. I'm going to look for a new doctor.
I’ve always had great luck with Dr. Torphy. He is very kind and considerate. He makes you feel understood and has an excellent bedside manner.
I have to explain again. Apparently somebody didn't care for my penmanship. I could care less. I am bilingual and have over 5 brain surgeries affecting that area"brocas" of the brain. I have severe Lyme's which affects me neurologically. Diamonds HA Clínic was cruel, uncompassionate and I regret being inpatient there. I have moved on with my life despite over 20 surgeries. Now I have 2 great doctors. Yes I am an RN. We all have imperfections but if that is what I look at everyday, my pain would overwhelm me. I became a natural medicine user, no not what you might think and pursue helping others. I use the ability to speak another language not to glorify myself. What do we have that hasn't been given to us. And I thank God who provided other doctors to help me physiologically and physically. Fisiologicamente y físicamente. Have a great day!!!!!!⚘
Dr. Alex is nice, but nice doesn't heal migraines. I've been seen for over 15 years by my neurologist in Atlanta, but I recently moved to Chicago and needed to establish a new physician. All I needed was my 3-month Botox for migraine appointment, but I was made to stay there for 3.5 hours for them to run every test in the book. The nurse staff wasn't even skilled enough to take my blood, and I was poked and pricked. Finally I saw Dr. Alex and explained how bad my migraines were getting. He assured me that he would have the Botox clinic expedite the appointment. Despite that, I've had to call every week, and now the earliest they can get me in is over a month later from my initial appointment. Ridiculous since the medicine and procedure was approved by my insurance within days after my initial appointment. I will look for another physician, but for now I'm stuck with them. I will update my review after the Botox appointment.
A great facility with a staff who really cares about the patient experience. Harriet and Conrad have been great to work with and, for once, I actually look forward to coming to the doctors office!
The medical staff is wonderful and inovative at treating migraines and other chronic headache types. They have helped me live a more normal life than I have been able to for the past 5 years.
While in the end I was able to find medicine to treat my migraines, somehow DHC finds it acceptable to leave patients with debilitating migraines waiting around the office without any hurry to treat them. Every time I went in for treatment with a severe migraine, they would let me wait 30-60 minutes for my appointment in the waiting room, and then wait another 30-60 minutes in a room without any treatment or consultation. This happened multiple times. I would ask, 'do you not believe me, do you think I am overreacting, that I am being a baby and this isn't a serious condition? Why won't you help me?'. They would always apologize for the wait and said they helped me as quickly as possible. The staff seems to be slow, in no hurry to help their patients at the height of their migraine. It seems to be an inefficient system and was extremely upsetting. Despite these very poor experiences, Dr. Alex was able to find a set of medicines to treat my migraines, and I was able to find relief and treatment which has greatly improved my quality of life. But of course, the staff seemed to think there was no rush to give me said treatments... I would recommend seeing Dr. Alex, but the rest of the experience of going to DHC was wanting.
The nurses allowed my sister's IV to get a life threatening sized air bubble in the line and my dad had to shut off the machine before it went into her body. Its could have gotten to her brain. They didn't all prime the pump between IV changes. My entire family is so displeased. We left with no cure or even the slightest bit of improvement. Never will we return. WATCH YOUR IV LINES if you dare to go.
