My kid had to go to the bathroom after eating the food. I was fine. The smothered chicken, the cornbread was good. Huge portions. Also the 4 people behind the counter completely ignored me, didn’t even greet. I was waiting for at least one of them to come up, there was no line. I almost left. Disappointed after seeing many good reviews! Will not be going again though. Customer service is as important as the food.

The place was clean and food was buffet style and they served the food. Some the best soul food I've had on the west coast.

Excellent food and service! The owner sat down and talked with us. He even showed us the office. I would go back there in a hot minute!!

Food was very tasteful. I had the tried chicken lunch. Comes with two sides and the portions are plentiful. I recommend.

So this was my second time attempting to eat here. Ordered short rib, got some form of beef. When we called in to ask WHAT THE HELL they gave us, the lady on the phone said "our kind of short rib"! What does that mean? It means basically they need to stop false advertising and just say baked beef, not short rib! I'm done with them. Oh, my cabbage was hard as heck too! And the customer service was HORRIBLE! I guess getting all the church's Sunday money is not good enough to get treated right!

Ordered the oxtail dinner, first server was friendly and polite, no issues. Second server, the young girl, didn't look at me once or speak to me as the customer, very rude. When she was done, I waited at the register for 5 minutes because no one was there. There was no urgency to get someone at the register from the rude server or anyone else. Someone finally calls over the cashier, she comes over extremely talkative but once again not to the customer but to her co workers. Theyre speaking like theyre in a locker room but they cant speak to the dreaded customer I guess. Anyways, the oxtails were tough and had no flavor, they tasted like leather boots. The black eyed peas were the only good thing. The greens, corn, and cornbread were mediocre. Never again.

Just deliciousness! The food and service was 5 stars! Generous portions and greeted warmly when we entered. Food was still hot when we got home! Will definitely visit again when in town! Peach cobbler was so good!

Dulan's: Being from the south it's a must that a visit Dulan's while in LA. It never disappoints me. This time I had smothered pork chops which were delicious. The cornbread is always absolutely amazing! I had the greens and dressing, again thumbs up and mac and cheese. Unfortunately the mac and cheese had paprika or something in it which wasn't a hit for me but wasn't nasty...just not my favorite seasoning. The tea&lemonade was great. Of course I will be visiting again on my next trip.

Worse experience ever! After hearing so many great things about this place I had to try it out for myself. However this was by far the worse place to go on my opinion. Not only did they let customers skip line in front of you, I brought it to the attention of the worker who acted as if she wanted to rectify the situation and get another lady to assist me. Not only did they put my plate behind several plates Including the customers they let skip. When asked to speak to a manager no one cared to find out exactly what was going on a professional manner. ALL employees continued working. If this is the type of business you run I would rather not support. I left with nothing including my intentions of never returning!

Great options, giant portions, and usually a line! The fried fish is made when ordered. Lots of options for comfort food but also options for veggies. Get the banana pudding if it's available, you won't regret it. Only downside is you have to know what you want when you get in line. They write your order on the box to go. You can't order while in line and looking at the options. So check out what they have and what looks good before you get in line or bring a buddy so they can stand in line while you check out what looks good.

Worth the money. You get a lot. Can last me 2 1/2 days. Smothered short ribs was good along with rice & gravy, collard greens, yams and corn muffins. Peach cobbler was great.
