The food actually was really good but the portions were suprising small for the prices your paying, almost 4 dollars for the asparagus and 20 dollars for the lamb chops which were very small. The website gallery of the food is very deceiving. But the food was very tasty
It's amazing how genuine the staff is and how consistent the food is here. The owner is sweet and humble. The value of the food, and the presentation justifies the price very well. When ever the owner is ready to expand, just know your community will support you. So step out on faith when the time is right!

This place was so good. The food was delicious and the owner really knows how to make you feel at home. Love It!
Excellent excellent excellent!!!! Loved it!!! This is a Black Owned business that's doing it right! Fell into this place after visiting 3 Black Owned restaurants that didn't have 1 thing or another that was on their menu. This place has everything-a beautiful space, friendly staff, GREAT FOOD, fast service, just a tad bit expensive but we'll worth the price. Maybe expensive is not the right word- "Not cheap" would be a better description. Bbq jerk wings an appetizer is 4 whole wings and are nice and tender. Fried chicken well seasoned tender and crispy, fried fish was fresh and seasoned very Well, my daughter was surprised by the lamb chops which were tender, juicy and again we'll seasoned. She was so impressed she has plans to order take out and can't wait to tell her coworkers. I think this is my 1st 5 stat review!!!!
Came to see what all the hype was about! This place is really small and intimate. Be sure to give yourself some time to be seated. Staff is very friendly. To sum up the food: It's decent. Everything we had was good but just didn't hit the spot. I'd skip the mac and cheese completely. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing though. I'll be back.
I don't know where to start about this amazing experience. The food was amazing and reasonably priced with good portions. Even the presentation of the food was amazing. However, the biggest part for me was the great customer service. The staff was so personable and I even got to meet the owner and chat with her. She has an amazing story and you can tell she cooks from the heart. I'm definitely going back and I highly recommend this place.

Wanted some good soul food while visiting Chicago. And lucked up on this jewel. Food was amazing and staff was very welcoming. Really got that southern home feel. Definitely will be back next time I’m in Chicago.
Hands down one of the best meals I have eaten! There was a line at the door before they opened and that's a good sign! Everything was delicious! I had the salmon and aside from the fact there there were only 2 pieces of shrimp, it was so flavorful and delicious! Can't wait to go back! Thanks, Soulé!
