Loved this hotel! The decor was cool and rooms were very clean and had a retro funky style. Staff was super friendly and they have Valet parking right at the entrance to hotel. It does cost extra for valet which was around $39 per day. There are other parking garages in the immediate area but read the prices carefully because a lot of them charge $20 extra to come and go. The hotel will get your car anytime for no extra charge.

So I paid for my hotel room and they were even charging cash for deposit, Edgar and the African American girl. Have been charging and extra cash charge when someone would come in to check in to their hotel room and apparently they haved been a room that is for me since I am the winner of the Harvey Milk Award and Ryan White award and also the owner said to me well your the new owner but I don't think he doesn't know it it. Wow just so each less by the way I've been treated at this hotel. And i was the Man of year for San Francisco as well. For creating a structure that will not only make 5 to 10 affordable 100% apt buildings in every state but also make America tuition free And it's not backwards or opposite either

Overall, this was a fantastic experience. I have no major complaints about the staff or service. The hotel is gorgeous, clean, and feels like a wonderful fusion of 1930's and modern sensibilities. Positives: Great included bath products, very comfortable pillows, and I'll keep saying it, the decor is just beautiful. I liked how easy it was to walk to the art museum, Christmas in the Park, and the San Jose Diridon transit station. Negatives: Bed was too firm, as a result I'd wake up several times during the night to reposition. The one night we chose to ask for the late night snack amenity, it didn't get up to us until we reminded the front desk an hour later. The optional breakfast buffet was served in the very pretty Hedley Lounge. It was convenient, but didn't offer much variety, and especially after a few days, it was not entirely satisfying. That's pretty much all my complaints, and despite them, it was an incredibly nice place to stay. If I found myself in San Jose, I'd consider staying with them again.

Design wise, it's nice but what I didn't like is there was still leftover food left in a cabinet under the TV. That made me wonder if they really cleaned thoroughly. Also there was a weird smell in the hallways. Is it enough to keep me from staying here again? Idk, I'm still on the fence on that.

The outdoor patio was very quaint and walled off from the hustle of downtown. I didn't have to wear a coat all night despite the weather beyond the walls being really windy. The food was good, though my friend stated that her chicken was bland. I had the salmon and enjoyed it. The staff seemed rushed for the event, but they were nice and easy to flag down. Overall it was a good venue for a small gathering.

It's an older building and hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the extra items in the bathroom, like earplugs and a vanity kit. I would stay again.

Great staff, but needs serious improvement. Pros: The lobby and the hotel bar area are very nice. They have live jazz in the bar on many nights. It's only about 10 minutes (in the afternoon) to the airport. The staff is great and aim to please. The bed was very comfortable. WIFI (paid for by the daily add-on "Hotel Amenity Fee") is fast and reliable. Free cookies in the evening. Cons: The room was not very clean. Soap scum on the shower door, needed a good vacuum, towels were showing their age. The walls were thin, I could easily hear every word of the guy next door. He was talking in a normal voice. The in-room heater was very loud and aircraft come in low right over the hotel. I had to use earplugs and I am usually noise-tolerant. The oddest thing was the "self-flushing toilet". At random times during the day and night, the toilet would just flush by itself. Lastly, the windows were very drafty (so the heat was up). They were old and just would not close all the way.

This was a perfect hotel for my stay for a day’s /night’s get away for Miguel’s concert that I was attending at the time. The university is not far at all from this hotel where the concert was going on at which was a major plus for me. I like to stay close by after a long evening to come and rest. Check in was smooth & I also loved their restaurant located inside and room service was good. This is an all in one location where I didn’t have to leave the hotel for anything.

Marvellous hotel. Great location. Food superb. Staff superb. Real Luxe treatment.I had a small concern re some service immediately acted upon by the Manager. Nothing was too much trouble and this is the norm for this superb hotel.Repeat customer. Simply would not stay anywhere else and look forward to my next visit. A true first class hotel with excellent amenities especially the food. Staff who care. So helpful.

I stayed here back in December since I was visiting my brother at SJSU and this hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the campus. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel's atmosphere is one of the best I've stayed at. I loved the interior and the antique feel. Because the hotel is on the older side I do feel it needs a few things fixed. In my room the cover for the A/C fell out of nowhere. I was able to put it back up but the A/C itself was also very noisy. To me it wasn't that big of a deal but I can see it being a nuisance to someone who is a light sleeper. Overall I would definitely stay here again whenever I'm back in San Jose.
