I reached out to the Pharmaca in Oakland regarding contributing to a local drive for the homeless community. I also provided a donation request letter stating that the organization provided hygiene kits for up to 2,000 community members and any help was appreciated, and left my contact information. Although they originally told me that they were happy to contribute, I never heard back and so reached out again. At my second visit, the management told me that they did not have any record of the request although they were able to find the letter. The next day I received a call stating that they would donate one gift bag and that I needed to bring a gift card. When I arrived to pick up the contribution, there was a single bag of Pharmaca brand items with a large note attached stating "For Andrea - Must have card or letter" (can't post the pic but I have it!) On your website, you state "the world is our community. We are devoted to our neighborhood and planet". You also tout your community initiatives and support for the homeless community. You also chose to build in Oakland - although I'm not sure that you realize Rockridge is in Oakland - a community that I'm sure you choose do to its historically progressive beliefs and approach. However, your actions do not reflect your values. Also I appreciate any support, even one gift bag, I would hope that a business that brands itself on wellbeing and concern for the community could find a way to be more openhearted for our next drive. Other Oakland businesses such as Grocery Outlet provided generous contributions, and no one required a thank you card.

I sometimes shop at the Table Mesa store but my last experience was not so great. Unknowledgeable employee who kept pestering us to use a homeopathic remedy instead of what we wanted to buy and in the end we ended up buying the wrong thing (the employee led us to believe that we were buying the product we were looking for).
