Been going for years wouldn't trust anyone else like I do this group!
I went in for a wellness exam with Dr. Michael Killian at Red River Family Practice. The check-in process was handled by a rude lady and they charged me a new patient fee of over $100. I wait for a while and was then escorted to talk to Michael Killian in a room. I was surprised to see that his knowledge of nutrition, fitness, and intermittent fasting, was outdated or limited. When I told him about the key role dietary fats play in maintaining our hormonal functions, he denied it. When I told him about putting on muscle mass by increasing weights (intensity) in the gym, he said that I don't really need to lift heavy, just do more reps. Huh? So I can just do more reps with a 5 lbs. dumbbell and increase my muscle mass? This contradicts all science on fitness and nutrition. I felt like I paid over $100 (for a wellness exam that was supposed to be free) to talk to a doctor who hasn't kept up with his field.
I have been going here for a really long time. The doctors are great, their staff is awful. I went in on Thursday morning to have a very important medication refilled. I paid over $100 for my visit, the doctor made me get blood drawn, their tech was kind but left me with a huge ugly bruise on my arm. So why, tell me why has my script not been called in or filled????? I am now in day 2 of withdrawal from my medication because no one ever called the script in. I called first thing this morning and was put through to the doctor's assistants voicemail. I hope they fill the script ASAP.
I have been a patient of red river family practice for five years, in general I have had a trouble free experience, Drs are caring, I feel like I’m in good hands,I have seen Dr Wernz and Dr Brinson. I’m grateful for their expertise and humanity.
Red River Family Practice Dr.Gary Werntz and staff has taken care of me since arriving and I was awaken5:00am by Dr.Werntz after suffering a stroke.Thank You, for being a great doctor and friend.
