Dr. Atwal and Dr. Compton are two of the best doctors in the area. I do trust them with my dogs after two emergency incidents that they took care of. My regular vet was Banfield for years, but after seeingtheir level of care, I switched to the South Bay Animal Hospital. Dr. Atwal is not only very experienced, but also has a very updated knowledge of the field. I have noticed this when he refers to the latest studies when describing a case.

Thank goodness South Bay is open on weekends since our dog was convulsing from throwing up all day. Dr. Spencer and the night staff came through for Mindy. It was nice to be reminded to bring her prior medical paperwork since our major concerns were with our dog. They clearly outlined the cost and explained everything in detail. Since our emergency was after 8pm, we paid $120 for the office visit and everything else was the same price charged by vets. I must have called 5 times on the weekend to get advice on our dog's condition and there was always someone to help answer my concerns! They actually cared more for my senior dog then our regular vet! So much so that we now have selected South Bay for all of Mindy's veterinary care. Thank you to the staff for being there in time of our need!

Took one of my dogs on an emergency visit at night due to recurring vomiting and loss of appetite. Dr. Compton and staff were magnificent. The place is spotless and they were very patient and understanding with my very excitable little pooch. The care my dog received and the thorough examination, treatment and explanations of what was going on were outstanding. I was previously with Banfied. I was never really impressed by their formulaic approach. Their vet techs give you a menu of optional services and treatments even before the Dr. comes in! Ridiculous. South Bay is different; they do things right. It is after the doctor examines the dog that you receive estimates. Yes, it can be pricey, but the level of care and attention merits the fees they charge. I am very happy with Dr. Compton and the staff.

These people are money grubbers and alarmists. They always want to bring you an "estimate" of the bill for your visit and it is always 9 things your dog does not need. I do not think that these people actually care about your pet, they only care about $$$. Save yourself some trouble and head to Los Gatos dog and cat hospital for not only better quality service but better value. I used to bring my dog here but I will never return to them after multiple visits of unsatisfactory service.

Although they provide reasonably priced boarding and are very friendly the requirements (with regards to shots, blood tests, faecal tests etc.) are rather strict. There was also some confusion about which items were sent home with the pet. The opening times are excellent and our pet was very happy here, so we will come back here for boarding in the future. Hopefully the intake experience will be slightly smoother the second time.

The have provided thee best care for our family dog Lady who has been a long time member of our family for over 15 years. I still remember the day when I picked her up from the breeder in Livermore when she was only 8 weeks old. She gave our family many years of happiness and joy. Except for those first few puppy years when Lady was a little terror around the house and a mighty squirrel Hunter in the park. However, she never caught one... Last Summer, after a long struggle with old age and some minor surgeries that we're preformed by South Bay Animal Hospital, Lady did recover from, old age finally caught up with her, as pain management for arthritis became useless and Lady could no longer walk. South Bay Animal Hospital properly evaluated Lady's situation and no other care or choice was possible.. Lady's passing was peaceful and pain free as our eyes remained locked on each other until the very end.. All Dogs go to Heaven and we will see her again...

DON’T TAKE YOUR DOG THERE My dog needs medication for life and they know it. I have to borrow a car to get my dog there and they know I don’t have money to be throwing away. So I went in for a refill prescription to take to Costco (very reasonably priced) and on top of the $60 visit they wanted to test for this and that. If I didn’t get the blood test, teeth cleaning, fecal test and heartworm test they wouldn’t give me the prescription. They must need money because they are only getting worse even though they know my dog. They are very caring and will love your dog if you have the money 💰. Love your pets and take them somewhere that cares.

Friendly staff but woefully overpriced! My dog's $11K quote and questionable prognosis in front of my 11yr old led me to getting a second opinion. After consulting with the second Vetenarian, I purchased a $25 over the counter pill treatment. It's been 4 months and my dog's thriving and healthy. Always get a second opinion!

Our family is so grateful for all of the wonderful and loving people, here ❤️ We had an extremely sad situation with our sweet baby cat and eventually had to put him down. The staff was very sympathetic and supportive. .. even at 4 am. They were honest right away about the condition of our cat and not once tried to misdirect us into doing expensive treatments, which would not have helped in anyway. Our family highly recommends this wonderful place for all pet needs. They are straight up honest, very caring and exceptionally loving. Aberg Family

Love this place. My dog comes back from boarding here and he is totally normal and not stressed at all. The people who work here GENUINELY care and love my dog. I’m so thankful to have a place where I can leave Pablo and never worry.

My mother has brought her/our family dogs here for years. I have recently started bringing my bunnies here. They are wonderful, warm caring people that truly have the animal's best interest at heart. My 6mo lionhead lop was recently in to be spayed. I was super nervous but I was reassured that it's a simple surgery and she'll be well taken care of. They have always been very clear with directions and I feel extremely comfortable bringing my pets here. I would recommend this place to anyone. They're also open 7 days a week, as well as for emergency services.
