It would be great if Children's Mercy had PCC clinics out south....

The best hospital I’ve ever been to! Very professional people from the bottom all the way to the top. They really care and take pride in what they do, and they do a lot!

Never will I ever use one of your urgent cares again. Took my son in for a sore throat. The dr flat out said he didn’t have strep but tested for it anyway. Sent home with nothing, not even antibiotics and then get a bill for $500. Are you kidding me? I’ve taken him to other urgent cares for worse things and never paid over $100. $300 of it is just a facility and new patient fee. Way to try and take advantage of people. This is the location in Leawood off 119th but I’m sure they are all the same. Asked around and this appears to be a reoccurring issue.

I have very bad experience on first time visit in this hospital. They sent me a huge bill amount which is not fair at all. My son had minor skin rash. I went to hospital to get checkup this by some doctor. I parked my car in front of ER and when I entered to the door I asked the guy about the walk-in facility who was sitting in check-in counter. He pointed me to ER where I need to go to get checkup my son. I told him that I didn't want to go to ER because my son had minor skin rash only and also told him that I was looking for walk-in or urgent care. He did not respond my question properly and asked me to go inside ER. I got confused that moment and entered inside ER. After that doctor just did normal checkup, they did not provide any emergency facilities to my son. And now after one month they send me a bill of huge amount including doctor charge. They charged me about $700 for the emergency room which is truly unfair. I ended up everything by paying a huge amount to cure a minor skin rash. I would recommend not to go to this hospital unless necessary or think twice before going to this hospital. They are just money-hunger.

We have two kids with chronic severe health issues who are cared for by Children's Mercy. For the most part, the care has been excellent...though my oldest had to undergo two liver biopsies and stay an extra day because someone in the lab lost the first sample. The billing office, however, is absolutely horrible. We have a payment plan set up, and they are constantly referring us to collections even though they auto-deduct the payment monthly. On three separate occasions, someone in the billing office has screwed up and turned the auto-deduct off or cancelled our payment arrangement with no notice. When we call, they claim they have sent e-mail to notify us of their actions, but we have combed through all of our e-mail accounts and spam folders for the last several years, and we have not received a single e-mail about billing. Our first notice that something has gone wrong is when we get a nasty phone call demanding payment in full for past due accounts. The accounts are past due because someone in the billing system has screwed up. We have tried in good faith to keep our accounts up to date, but when we call or go online to pay, the bills don't even show up in the system because "they're overdue." The bills are overdue because either the system hasn't recorded payments that we can document having paid or because someone or some system has cancelled our payments. We have called, we have spoken to supervisors, we have done everything we can do to take care of this, and yet it keeps happening...and customer service always blames us for their mistakes. This. Must. Change. My husband just spent over an hour talking to multiple billing specialists to try to straighten out the latest round of billing screw-ups.
