14 years ago my husband and I decided we would use Panetta's because it was literally an all in one- reasonable price. It made our busy lives so much easier. At the time the reception package was very simple, mind you this is before the use of online resources and other inexpensive and creative ideas that are available today. We chose the Los Gatos History Club. We had our vows read out in the garden (by a Reverend of our choosing & we paid for her services). It was the hottest day in October! There was not a whole lot of shade for our guests, but it was OK. They were good about getting water to the guests as soon as they got seated. There weren't any decorations or anything out, but we were in a garden....the package was for 100 people and then a fee per additional person. We went intimate as possible (80). Since the venue didn't have very many options, we had our wedding at 11:00 AM on a Sunday (the only option available on such a short notice). Well we were all out of college, so the open bar really wasn't necessary, but it was INCLUDED. All the tables were very simple, white table clothes & napkins, silverware and stemware, white chairs (not covered, no decor). The center pieces were my responsibility. I came up with a creative center piece with the WORST white roses I have ever seen- that was the most embarrassing part of the wedding (Citti's Florist on Bascom Avenue (it appears they have moved to Santa Clara since our wedding). The Flowers were NOT included in the package. The buffet was OK, some food was not warm and NOT impressive. The DJ actually wore more makeup than I did. So in a nut shell, we went to Panetta's office. It was a dark, gloomy, smelly little room. There were no assistance at the time, it was one of the owners. Panett's has come a long way as far as the expansion of the venues, but the services and the "all inclusive" part of the service is lost. All Included in 2000- Venue with a Garden Wedding vow set up- Bonus for an inclusive wedding. Service set up & clean up Open Bar Good Service Dance Floor Head Table with audio for greetings, etc. **Cake (which is now out of business and now "A Piece of Cake" is there. I would have gone with "Icing on the cake", in LG. The service and cake there is AMAZING! ***WORST DJ EVER! We made a list of songs and he played about half of them. So, while the services have expanded, it seems that the customer service has really taken a dump. I would have done several things different if I could today. Over all- Panetta's gets a 3 star review- neither good- great or acceptable to horrible.
