After attending Platt College 25 years ago I have had a long successful career in Graphic Design and Illustration, the last 16 years as an Art Director, thanks Platt for making it possible.

College is a time for a person to explore careers, make mistakes, and learn how to fix them. At Platt, a student is submerged in classes and projects that simulate real-world situations in their respective field of study to challenge them daily. The teachers are professionals in their field and, due to the small class sizes, are capable of working with individual students to help find their talents and hone their skills. The staff is always welcoming and the unique environment provides a very homely atmosphere. I recommend attending Platt College if you are certain which career path you want to follow- the curriculum is straight to the point and hands on. And even if you are not entirely sure which subject to emphasize in, the staff will help guide you to focus in a field you will do well in.

The classes are ok but overall not a good school if you want to learn more than what they teach in a year. Not to mention CELI (career services) sends you to the wrong jobs, to put an example... she sent me to an UPS job to be a notary which it has NOTHING to do with graphic design. (AND LET ME BE CLEAR because apparently strangers like to go bother other strangers in their reviews) I have NOT been successful on THE career that Platt promises to HELP you to get to (is that more clear now?.) To be honest I never wanted A graphic design degree they force upon you FIRST for a whole year if you want get to Animation, Video, etc. I transferred to Platt from The Art Institute with a Media Arts and Animation focus. The admissions lady at the time apparently her department was completely different than admissions so she lied to me and messed up my admission. She told me that first I needed to go thru some graphic design before the animation and it was to cover the credits for the classes that didn’t transfer because some of the classes didn’t cover all, but she didn’t tell me that Graphic Design is an associates degree, ONE THING, ONE PRICE, ONE YEAR. And if you wanted to “continue” with bachelors you HAD to pay another year or so of a different degree. Of course when I found that out I was already within a year of courses. So I had to stop and leave after that one year because I could not afford another year of a different career with a different price and making payments all over again... I’m already in a huge depth from Ai and thanks to Platt I have to now pay two student loans and one is for a degree I didn’t even want... oh well. I did learn some things and meet some cool teachers. This review is based on an specific situation... SO if you're a current student and you read this review, feel free to judge me in an awesome comment below, because you know me and you know my situation so well that you can give me your super opinion.

After a year at platt it honestly has turned out to be the best choice of my life thus far, the staff is beyond helpful always going out of their way, staying late or whatever they have to do to help you, Harry and Celi in the career services are phenomenal and will do everything in their Power to get you a job if you put forth the effort . I can go on and on but basically what I am trying to say is if you want a great education in a very tight knit caring community of fellow creatives then Platt College is the place for you

Platt College is an AMAZING college. They made me into a ROCK STAR! They give you the tools you need. If you have the talent, put in the time, and have the passion to keep learning and grow, you'll also become a ROCK STAR! My education at Platt put me on the right path. I grew so much even after Platt. Never being complacent and learning something new every day has done amazing things for me. I see some people on here complaining, it's pretty sad but I can understand they got nowhere with that bad attitude. Really dude, you're going to say you have not been successful in your career? That's your fault!

I had a great experience at this school, taking home my Associate and Bachelor Degree in three years time! This review though isn't going to be about the school but about a very special person named Celi Yankajtis, Career Services Director. Celi, along with all my teachers, have helped me become successful. Celi, in particular though, has helped me land TWO jobs. One for a startup app company and another recently at a local web marketing firm. I cannot thank her enough for the dedication and care she has for the students and their success. She truly loves her job and truly cares, the proof is with Alumni like myself. She continuously posts job openings in the schools career services job board and always goes above and beyond to help students find work, especially for those students who show the desire to succeed. I warn you though, DO NOT WASTE this woman's time! She truly is there for all the students but if you don't show effort yourself then you are wasting her time which she could be spending on students who want to succeed. Thank you Celi for being an amazing student advocate!!!

A year after graduating I was unable to even get one job interview. I graduated with a 4.0 B.S. in Media arts 3D, and was chosen as student speaker for my graduation. Over the course of the year the one career services person they have sent me one listing... That's it after a year... I'm back in school for accounting now. San Diego Mesa College (and now SDSU woo) is a far better choice. And be aware that if you get a degree it is not accredited so if you decide to go back to school your starting over. I HIGHLY recommend you self teach with a high quality online set of courses, cheaper and worth just as much, and you don't have to waste a year and a half getting an associates degree you don't want. $72.000 for Platt vs $5,000 at mesa and about $25,000 for SDSU. So less than half the price for a real degree.
