Company Description

Established in 2003, Red Lion is a friendly English-inspired neighborhood pub. Along with our unique menu of pub favorites and Indian cuisine, enjoy a thoughtful variety of beer, Scotch, whiskey and wine.We love the little details that make our customers feel right at home. Slide into a plush oversized booth and relax while we serve you. Warm yourself by our cozy indoor fireplace, or if you prefer, at an outdoor patio table with your own fire pit. By summer, the patio tables convert to hold a private ice chest to keep your bubbles chilled.

Nice place, great service and food. Car was broken into with items stolen. I saw other glass in the parking lot as well, so it’s a popular spot for thieves to visit. I had parked in a space towards the back of the parking lot. The “Security guard” who was sitting in a car when I approached him told me “Anything past this line isn’t my problem.” Super disappointing end to what was a good evening. Manager was very sympathetic and helped clean up and gave a gift card. Maybe they should hire a parking lot attendant who actually does his job. 😞

We love the food here. The Keema Fry’s (no longer shown on the menu) are a great starter. The Fish and Chips are battered just right. Fry’s are crisp on outside and tender in. Add sweet peas and, yeah, yum. The Sautéed Scallops and Mashed Potatoes are soaked in an excellent gravy and hit the spot every time. While I like the truffle potatoes, usually sub the garlic mashed. The bar is well stocked. The atmosphere is pub and comfortable. All the food here is well made and worth a go.

I have never eaten English food in their country so have no basis for comparison. However the decor was charming and location convenient. We both enjoyed the English specialties like bangers & mash, their version of pot pie, chips w vinegar & mayo ( didn't like that one). Good selection of ales & beers. Once inside, you feel transported to the UK

Steak and mushroom pie is outstanding as is the lamb keema (nice and spicy but not hot spicy). Full bar, wine and beer and sports on the TVs. Outdoor patio is great during nice weather. Service always attentive in my experience.

The food are really good, appetizers, huge plates, good beers and a great vibe! The host always try to put us in the best spot and all waiters treat us very well! There's TV everywhere for sport fanatics and as a good British restaurant some soccer game on tv...

Fantastic English pub! Great beer selection. Wonderful food, but a bit pricey for just a mid-week night out for dinner.

Excellent food! Well executed British pub favorites with an Indian curry specialty. Super cozy atmosphere, a fireplace and excellent service all around. Highly recommend!

Fantastic selections of classic English ales, and the "pub food" is aligned with what I'd expect somewhere in Northern England. Except, well... better. Look, I'm not trying to playing into the "British food is terrible" stereotype, but I have eaten pub fare in England and what you get in fish and chips, with malted vinegar -- it's usually not good. You can eat it, but it's not good. Meanwhile, Red Lion takes these classic British dishes, and does them better. I also appreciate the nod to Indian cuisine, consistent with India's osmosis with British food. (Although, I suspect some history scholars will take issue with how I framed that statement. Is it osmosis if it's forced? Anyway...) This is a great little gem. Try it out.

Went in to watch an Astros playoff game. Great atmosphere for sports. Tried the Curry Wings and they were delicious. A mix of curry and crunch. Excellent selection of local and English craft beer. Scottish eggs were excellent. I paired with Blue Cheese Bacon mashed potatoes. They also had happy hour on all drinks during the game. Despite being busier than usual, server followed up without being overly attentive. Look forward to checking it out again soon.

Great little hidden gem in Houston. The food here is superb. They have some really good specials during the week. Great British vibe. Good beer selection. Prices are bit high but they make it up with large portions. Great steak on steak night. You also can’t go wrong with a $5 cheese burger combo.
