Company Description

The first Melting Pot opened in April of 1975 in Maitland, Fla., just outside of Orlando. It was a cozy, quaint location, and its first menu consisted of just three items: Swiss cheese fondue, beef fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert.

It was by far the most horrible experience of my life. We were waited on by (Shelby) at the Orlando/Dr. Philips location. She was robotic, condescending and very dull. She didn't seem to be interested in us (minority family). It was my daughters 18th birthday and I ignored all of this waitresses bad customer service quirks. At the end of the night she warranted what I thought was feasible as a tip ($10). Due to the nature of our horrid experience. She proceeded to wait by the exit and call my family out on the (6% tip). She stated "Oh you guys gave a low tip" loudly for the others to hear. I didn't really grasp what had occured because I just wanted to leave. This was the most disrespectful time at an establishment. Ms. Shelby needs an etiquette class or nonetheless a retraining on customer service skills.
