I had a terrific time while being involved with The Tech Academy! Through the bootcamp course, I went from having no coding experience to understanding the fundamentals of several programming languages, such as; C#, SQL, JavaScript and web development languages. I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to learn from the course provided and having the ability to contact instructors with any concerns/questions that I had. My only suggestions for anyone interested in attending is this: 1)Make sure you contact instructors with any concerns. My experience with this has always been positive. 2) Try to dive a little deeper into some of the concepts that are mentioned throughout the course. Since this is only a "bootcamp" then you will need to apply some effort into looking into some material yourself to fully comprehend.

If you are a self-motivated individual who is willing to put in the time and effort, this is an excellent program that gives the foundational knowledge and job search support to enter into a software development career. I chose The Tech Academy because I wanted to switch from a non-technical career path to development. Even though I live in the Portland area, I chose to complete the course online as it allowed me greater flexibility in my schedule. The Tech Academy had a great on-boarding process so I was able to jump right in. The curriculum was comprehensive and I appreciated that it went beyond just learning a coding language. We also learned how a computer functions and runs a program, how web applications are rendered, how code is compiled, and the basics of project management. My one minor complaint is that it would have been useful to also cover unit testing. The instructors were excellent and did a great job of answering any questions that I had. They always replied promptly to e-mails. The job assistance was also very helpful, especially the opportunity to do a mock-interview with the Job Placement Director. Having no experience interviewing for a technical position, the encouragement and feedback I received during the mock-interview was invaluable in building my confidence.

I found The Tech Academy a tremendously rewarding challenge that has taught me so much, not only about coding and the tech industry but about self discipline and dedication. This program is very challenging in and of itself but especially if coding is not a natural knack or passion for you. The Tech Academy has a very methodical approach to teaching someone like me (who was grateful to learn where the "power" button was), because they teach from the ground up. You must learn step 1 before step 2 and in the end, the Live Project brings it all together in a real world scenario. As a remote student, I did find being "remote" more of a challenge. I believe it's much easier to learn from others and because I had no other students to discuss questions or concepts with I was not very comfortable throwing out the jargon and being able to verbally communicate what was going on in my head. That would be my only complaint, it would have been great to have set phone calls with remote instructors or students working on the same course. With that said, I still recommend The Tech Academy to local and remote students. The program requires time, dedication, drive, and discipline but is sure to change your career path.

I had an excellent experience at The Tech Academy, from enrollment through graduation. The Tech Academy's software development program was exactly what I was looking for - self-paced and a comprehensive curriculum for full stack development. I was able to begin the program the day after my enrollment and I was able to spend as much time as I needed in each part of the curriculum and I was able to spend less time on the languages that came easier to me. The instructors were always extremely helpful. Whenever I was learning remotely I could call up until 9:00 at night and an instructor would help me with complex solutions to a software program objective ( and sometimes even a computer issue ). I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a quality education in software development to check out The Tech Academy. I researched several local and even national programs and The Tech Academy really impressed me and they never let me down. I wouldn't change a thing!

As a non-background developer, I really loved the curriculum that The Tech Academy made, From basic to deeper, just for beginners. And all the patient instructors gave me a lot help. I was doubt myself in the beginning, but while going through the courses I really enjoyed and had fun with all the instructor and classmates. And I learned a lot skills. If you have dream in it, don't doubt just do it, I always tell myself"If you can dream it and you can do it", and The tech academy is a great platform for us to get knowledge in short period.

I am just finishing up at the Tech Academy, but I really enjoyed the material in the program. It is quite challenging and there are times where the material can be quite frustrating. Students going through the program I encourage to just stick it through. Just know that you will not be an absolute expert at all things programming when you get out. However, you will have an excellent foundational knowledge, skills, and work experience, which will allow you to go into an entry level tech job in the software or IT field. I thoroughly enjoyed the live project at the end because it was a way to apply everything you learned in the program. You learn how to research and solve programmatic problems on a team. They do a great job of making it feel like a realistic sprint in an actual software developer team, which I thought was cool. The instructors and staff are very friendly, and I was able to get a good tech job before even graduating. Learning code teaches you patience and intuitiveness. As mentioned before, there will be times when you get very frustrated with the exercises and drills. This is to be expected and happens in the actual job as well. Blocks of code aren't always going to work correctly but I encourage students to keep practicing and learning. The job placement course is also very good and you learn a lot about all the little details necessary to come off polished and professional while going through the job search experience. My one thing I learned that helped was to show interest in the company and job. Ask lots of questions and do your research on where you are applying. My few complaints would be their website. I wish they would make it a little easier to navigate when going through the lectures and drills. I also wish I would have had more time to go through their new C# course. When I was going through the program, they were using a third party while they were developing their own course. While the third party was decent, it was a little frustrating that it wasn't through the Tech Academy. Keep in mind though, they now have their own C# course. I went through as much of it as possible and it is pretty good. I would also say the cost of the program is a little high but to be fair my getting a job right out of the course made it worth it. I would encourage anyone interested in getting into the tech field to give the Tech Academy a go. Code is a skill you develop over a lifetime. It feels a lot like writing or learning a foreign language. It is something you just keep going with. I definitely would recommend the Tech Academy program.

The Tech Academy was the best thing that could happen to me. I had no programming background and to be honest no idea what to do with programming when I will finish the school. I knew programming might be for me and I found out that it is one of the best profession of the present/future. I still didn't know what I'm gonna do with it exactly and how. Somewhere in the middle of the curriculum, it became crystal clear. You can do whatever you want with it. I felt relieved. I could choose my own path without worrying what will others think. So I became a game developer using C#. And the school gave me all the tools I needed. The ability to learn nearly anything I need for my new Adventure. As a Chinese proverb says: “You give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him to fish and you give him an occupation that will feed him for a lifetime.” I got my new occupation and I'm forever grateful to everyone at The Tech Academy. Thank you!
