This review will be strictly in regards to the packing side of our experience. We have not completed the moving side and will review that once we receive our household goods. The packing services were AMAZING. I will be honest and say at first I was not very pleased. There was a miscommunication that caused the first day of packing to be pushed back several hours and I was very concerned that we would not get the packing done in order for our household goods to be picked up on time. HOWEVER, the miscommunication did not prevent the packing timeline to remain the same. I was very impressed. The first day we got Mike and he was super quick, professional and organized. He helped walk me through what was going to happen the next few days, this was my first time having a company pack our house, which really helped me feel more comfortable with the entire process. He was also GREAT with our two dogs and didn't mind them being present in the house. I really didn't want to have to kennel them or put them outside and he was so accepting of that. The next two days I had the pleasure of meeting Vivian, Paxton, and Kenny. They were all very professional, had GREAT communication, were kind, organized, and ensured our goods were packed with the best care. They ensured they could answer all of my questions and if they couldn't they asked someone who could and got back to me promptly. I really cannot express my gratitude for Vivian, Paxton, Mike, and Kenny. They were incredible to work with and made my first packing experience a pleasure. :)

I had 2 "packaging" days scheduled with this company and a "loading" date. They showed up for the first day. Then, on the second day, did a no-show. They had my representative waiting at the location for several hours as they repeatedly said that they were on the way. Well, they just completed mis-managed their resource and didn't show up at all. So, they moved the "packaging" day over to the loading day. When that day came, they showed up, but completely forgot all of the packaging material needed to perform the work (kind of like a mechanic forgetting his tools, etc..) Also, the phone line the company operates on dropped me while I was on hold at least 5 times (yet they still put you on hold!!!)! Lastly, this company is HORRIBLE with telephone correspondence. They were supposed to call me back with information at least 5 times, but never did. I don't know how they survive????!!!

This company was GREAT to work with and the packers and loaders were amazing!!! They came short notice when we found out we were being deployed overseas. Melissa, Shane, Jessie and Mike were our movers and I could not have asked for a better crew! EVERYTHING was done professionally and efficiently. I would hire them again without a thought! We really appreciated working with Apaca!!! Thanks again y’all!!!

The dispatcher Aaron hired some lumpers aka workers and fail to pay them accordingly and wasted 14 hours of their day put them on two jobs one was 3000 that turned into eight 8000 pound job the next one was supposed to be 11,000 pound job. Aaron decided to get drunk before the job was done then decided not to pay them for some days, then when he decided to pay it was short and and unappreciated of the work they did that day for his company. Would recommend going to a more established moving company with better ethics and how they treat their workers and their customers.

Worst packers ever! Do not use them if you love your things. I’m missing a lot of things! They took the stuff out of boxes and wrapped them up in paper with other people’s name on it. Most of my things came in wrapped paper. Worst movers ever! So lazy! I will be filing a complaint.

Disappointed with several aspects of our move with Alpaca. First the lead worker was great and took great care of our stuff. However, several other workers left much to be desired. As a military family, we move A LOT, and have a lot of experience with various movers. To begin, the company ran out of wardrobe boxes so the movers just started stuffing clothes, including formal gowns and official military mess dress items, into the bottom of large boxes. All of our clothes were a wrinkled disaster when we arrived at our next home. And for things like tuxedos and mess dresses, that’s a lot of dry cleaning! Not to mention the hassle. Second, I spent MONTHS organizing baby clothes, toys, and other items into clear plastic bins in order to simplify everything. Every other moving company we’ve used just wraps up those bins and moves them the way they are. I understand that for liability reasons you want to make sure there’s nothing else in those bins that could damage other goods… but taking clear plastic bins full of neatly folded baby clothes and just dumping the contents into an unorganized wrinkled mess in a cardboard box? What good did that do? That not only wasted my months of preparation, but also the time it took me to re-do all of that after our move. Same with dumping my nicely packed toys into a cardboard box, and worst of all, the files, memorabilia, important documents etc, all just thrown into boxes when they were already organized in a nice, neat, compact way. Seriously?! It’s been 7 months since our move and I still haven’t been able to get to re-doing all they un-did. Please consider re-evaluating whatever policy was in place to make such a mess. Lastly, there was a sore underestimation on how long it would take to pack up our house. We kept reminding them that, by contract, we had to be out of the house and carpets cleaned by a certain date. The move continued to take longer and longer than they estimated, though we kept being reassured they would be out on time. In the end, they stayed an extra 8 hours on the last day (yes, that means they stayed till midnight, while my husband ended up having to help them move furniture so I was left alone to find a place to sleep my toddler and my 7-month pregnant self. We had planned to sleep on the floor and a pac-n-play in the empty house that night, but couldn’t with movers there.) We have far less stuff than the average American household (which is why they thought it would go so fast. I mean really, we owned one couch, 3 bookshelves, a tiny kitchen table, 2 beds and a few other things. No big entertainment center or anything that should take so long.) but the workers just packed and moved things so slowly! Maybe it was because it looked like such an easy job that they didn’t feel like there was a need to rush. So while the workers get paid overtime for spending all night at our house, it was a significant additional stress to us.

I worked at ApacA for 15 months. Always on time, never called out sick or asked for time off. Tommy was a great boss! When we lost tommy we got Aaron as a gm everything went downhill from there. Aaron’s main focus is to work his 8 hours and go to the bar after work. He hired a bunch of pot smoking beer drinking guys who down beers before work and smoke pot while on the job and driving company vehicles. There was a worker who main focus was drinking tequila and being racist and prejudice towards everyone except his circle of friends. Causing a hostile work environment. The more I complained about it the less I was worked. I know I was a great worker with great work ethics and fantastic customer service I knew was too good to work for this company. I looked for another job where they instantly saw how amazing I was hired on the spot, instantly got a promotion to lead/driver and 4 months later I was promoted to move coordinator and were torn to lose a great packer/driver/lead. But gained a fantastic Move coordinator. If Apaca cannot see the good in their workers and treat them poorly and keep less than professional group of people working, this isn’t the company you want to have move your stuff.

A complete disaster of a company. Apaca was contracted to do my mil move from New Mexico to Colorado. I already had a place to move into in Colorado and I confirmed the delivery date and address for my HHG with Apaca on several occasions. The scheduled delivery date came and went without any type of notification from the company. My HHG ended up sitting in New Mexico for nearly two weeks before they were shipped to Colorado and once my HHG arrived in Colorado, the company placed my items into storage without even notifying me. When I called Apaca to resolve the issue and to get my HHG delivered to my home, the company acknowledged their mistake but refused to do anything to fix the problem. I was forced to schedule a future delivery and went 45 days living in an empty place. Avoid this company at all costs.
